but we should also keep in mind that the Oscars are a failing enterprise that is always on the hunt for viral moments, and as men in their 50s Rock and Smith's careers are in constant danger of decline and they can always use some juice themselves (especially Rock). The entire thing could've been a publicity stunt.

"Normal" people will still be paying more in taxes than the rich will. It's nothing compared to the soaking the rich deserve, and it's not a wealth tax, but in practical terms it's probably a big hike for people with creative accountants
