Unless your job is to draw cover art for niche bands for $50 a pop, or flood Amazon with technically competent but subtly wonky paintings that people can hang on their walls for cheap, then AI is not going to make your job obsolete.

Hmm, yes, these data points go 1, 2, 4, 16, 128... I predict the next numbers will be 129, 130, and then 130 forever.

The problem with AI music is that it's harder to trick our brains to smooth over the imperfections. Bad notes/beats/compositions really stick out. I've been playing around with AIVA, which either takes parameters or a MIDI file as input, and the best I could get after lots of iteration and tweaking was just...ok. Like nothing that wouldn't need a lot of post-production.

I spent quite a while playing with AIVA (AI midi generation) a few months ago and it's just ok.

Like our eyes are much better at smoothing over and filling in AI glitches in images, than our ears are at doing the same for music.

Haven't really done any AI image stuff for like 6 months+

Finally got a month of Midjourney and HOLY poo poo

...then I figured out that it defaults to V4, so I switched it to V5 and HOLY FUCKEN poo poo

Going from DallE to this is mindblowing. Pretty much just been punching in all my old prompts and then whispering "holy poo poo" at the output.

Can anyone reliably generate uh "weird" faces? Like intentionally show me a photo of an otherwise-human cyclops, or a person with three eyes, or teeth for eyes, or noses for ears, or just really huge eyes?

This seems to be really hard for these models, and I get why. I'm just wondering if there's a way to reliably wrestle the prompt in that direction.

This one's pretty dope. Super curious about what non-words made it do that balloon headed plant.

The incantation for the bottom three images was "jibba nebbin tonato"

Top one was "nenten wanwan gogo"

Insane babble, even short strings of it, seem to consistently give really busy, detailed images. My guess is that this is because it doesn't have something to "focus" on, the initial noise doesn't get refined/smoothed out much, so it tries its best to make an image from a very noisy seed.

anyone else just not felt compelled to make songs with suno since they introduced customisable lyrics? it's like 80% of the fun was the lootbox-like rush of seeing what garbage it came up with. it's somehow less interesting as a toy now that it can sing anything you want. and it's not sophisticated enough to be much more than a toy.

so it's mostly just adding "grand tour photograph antique 1887 --ar 3:4" to a MJ V6 prompt. but more specifically, i got chatgpt to give me some descriptions of parallel universe grand tour destinations, and fed those in.

so this is "the Great Dam of Aquatia, an impressively constructed dam that not only controls flooding but also serves as a public space with gardens and walkways, showcasing engineering prowess and environmental consciousness"

and this is "the Tower of Winds, a tall, sleek tower with an intricate design that channels the wind to create harmonious sounds, acting as a symbol of the city's dedication to harmony with nature"

and then i've been experimenting with feeding them through depth anything

https://huggingface.co/spaces/LiheYoung/Depth-Anything

and then through leiapix, replacing the default depth map with the (much better) DA one

https://convert.leiapix.com/animation

to create some vintage stereographs of made up monuments (these are both cross-eyed ones)
