I'm just getting started and Idk whats going on TL;DR
  1. ROLL ON NEWBIE BANNER. Do NOT spend primos until you know what you're doing. More info later in the OP
  2. FEED YOUR STATUES OCULI (the weird pickups), this increases your stamina which makes gameplay much smoother! Also, go into the blessing dialog option and turn on auto-heal when nearby and set it to 100%
  3. If you don't mind getting spoiled, you can use the official interactive map to keep track of pickups like oculi or world challenges here
  4. Stay out of Dragonspine (the big snowy mountain) until you know what you're doing, you should be good after the Liyue story
  5. Don't sleep on character story quests even if you don't care for the character in question. These are often prerequisites for events and the skip mechanics are...questionable. Note that character story quests are distinct from character hangouts, which don't lock out anything.
  6. Unfortunately the vast, vast majority of Genshin content on the internet is complete useless garbage ranging from useless at best and outright false clickbait at worst. If you don't know something feel free to ask!
  7. It is basically impossible to mess up the early game, don't sweat it too much! Just keep your favorite character, their weapon, and their artifacts leveled
  8. Join the discord! It's active I promise! https://discord.gg/Dxbk6ZTB2X

What is Genshin Impact?
https://genshin.mihoyo.com/en
Genshin Impact is a free to play open world exploration game with gacha mechanics. It’s currently available on mobile, PC, and PS4/5. The exploration gameplay is simple yet surprisingly engaging and combat consists of swapping between characters to pull off combos. This game has a star studded VA team in multiple languages, top notch worldbuilding, fun character writing, and a pretty decent story to boot. The story is not winning any literary prizes, but it's fun and dumb and has anime af fights.

Singleplayer? Multiplayer? MMO?!
This is primarily a single player game. Multiplayer exists but it is limited to primarily instanced dungeons or bosses.

Is it free or is it "free"?
Genshin Impact is often described as two games. One game is an expansive open world exploration live service rpg with a gigantic regularly expanding map, quests, dungeons, and events. The second game is the Spiral Abyss, a single difficult endgame dungeon with tight dps requirements.

For the "first game", you absolutely do not need to spend any money at all to have a good time. This is not like other gacha games where that statement is technically true but realistically time consuming and annoying. On top of that, it's possible to work your way up to a reasonably diverse character roster over time using only currency you acquire ingame. You can expect to get an average of 55 free rolls per 6 week patch cycle if you do all the dailies/events/etc, not including currency from exploration or quests.

For the "second game", this becomes blurrier. It is possible and actually very common for fully f2p accounts to completely clear the spiral abyss, the issue is that many of these accounts are old and have had a long time to stock up on characters and gear. Spending money does speed up how long it'll take for an account to reach the point of fully clearing the dungeon, but that doesn't mean you can just buy your way into it either. Leveling, gearing, and straight up learning how to build teams and play them needs time, whether you've spent 0$ or 10000$. For whatever it's worth, the rewards from this dungeon is 11 rolls per 6 week patch cycle. Make of that what you will.

One thing to keep in mind, if you have your heart set on a specific character expect to plan in advance. This game has several bad luck protection systems that makes getting a specific character determinate with preparation. This game heavily punishes impatience and FOMO, so if you feel that you may be susceptible it might be better to stay away. Check the second post for more details on how to plan.

What should I play it on?
PC and mobile accounts are natively cross-compatible, and PSN accounts can now be linked with some finagling. Instructions are here. Game is also available on cloud gaming services. There are still rumors of a Switch port, but nothing concrete has been announced yet

How to build a Character
There are four main areas for improving your character

Character levels - Pretty straight forward, level up your character using xp books! Kills give you a miniscule amount of xp, so don't bother relying on it for levels

Ascension level - This determines the max level of the character. Unlocking each ascension additionally adds some bonus stats and at ascension 4 you unlock the bonus talent. This is why you sometimes see people talk about characters being 60/60 or 60/70, there is a small difference! Also, you get a free roll every odd ascension, don't forget to pick that up.

At the early levels, feel free to try out different characters and don't stress too much about possibly bricking your account. Later on, getting a character to 60/70 is extremely trivial, so if you want a safe stopping point that's a good one!

Weapon levels - Level up your weapons using other weapons and magic crystals obtained from mining/forging and events. Each weapon has a bonus stat associated with it which will also increase as you level the weapon.

Weapon ascension - Like character ascensions, this determines the max level of your weapon. Increasing the ascension level also gives a fairly sizeable boost to the bonus stat.

Similar to character levels, getting a weapon up to 60/70 is pretty easy in the late game.

The talent screen isn’t just for telling you what a character's skills do, it’s also where you level them up! The max talent level goes up as you ascend the character and they are for improving the raw numbers of your skills and autoattack. If you're not sure what a character is good at or what talent to level up first, there is now a talent reference button in the talent level up screen that shows a recommended leveling order. These recommendations are crowdsourced and generally seem decent. This can give you an idea of which skill to prioritize and what other players think this character is good for.

A safe stopping point is around talent level 5 or 6. Since the recommendations are not always optimal, if you're taking talents past these levels it's probably a good idea to reference the character builds spreadsheet later in the OP.

This is the meat of your character building. Equip them and level them up, they are basically your gear. A level 70 character with good artifacts will outperform an 80 with bad ones every time. Artifacts have a mainstat that increases every level and substats which will upgrade randomly every 4 levels. If your artifact does not have the maximum number of substats for it's tier, a new one will be added instead.

You might see lots of guides and posts online recommending very specific artifact sets with specific stat spreads. These are typically aimed at endgame content and are considered aspirational goals even then. You will go crazy if you try to follow these guides early game, many of the artifact sets aren't even available until way later!

Instead, at lower levels (<AR35) you just want to focus on getting some artifacts with decent mainstats and leveling those. If possible, Atk% is a safe bet for just about every slot unless the character is an exception that scales off different stats (eg. Noelle and Barbara). Keep in mind flowers will always roll flat HP and feathers will always roll flat attack. Set bonuses will be a nice well, bonus until you can reliably start farming 5* artifacts. Don't worry about upgrading low level artifacts! You recover about 80% of the xp when you feed a leveled artifact to another one. Statistically it's even a little more due to the random bonuses.

This is the bread and butter of the combat system in Genshin. Reactions are what really boost your teams damage and the optimizations can go deep at the high end. Before that, it's good to have a general idea of what reactions do and which ones are useful. The reactions can be roughly split into four categories: single target, aoe, utility, and support.

Single target:
Not much to say here, these do big numbers nice and simple. While these reactions do single target damage, the vast majority of elemental applications are aoe so you will not be stuck trying to apply them individually.
: Melt
: Vaporize
: Burning, this is a DoT
: Quicken, primes the enemy and causes them to take more electro (Aggravate) or dendro (Spread) damage. These reactions are a flat bonus of their respective types.

AOE:
These reactions do big numbers, and will also do some damage to nearby enemies even if they don't necessarily have the right elements on them.
: Overload, deals pyro damage to nearby enemies and knocks them back with an explosion
: Electrocharged, deals electro damage over time and interrupts the target. This will spread to nearby wet targets
: Bloom, this drops a seed on the ground which will explode after a short time. You will be able to apply pyro (Burgeon), or electro (Hyperbloom) to these seeds.
: Burgeon, the seed will make a bigger explosion and deal AoE damage
: Hyperbloom, the seed will shoot out a homing projectile which will deal single target damage

Utility:
These won't do as much damage as the single target or AOE reactions, but they're still handy in certain situations.
: Freeze, pretty self explanatory. Shatter is a special reaction caused by hitting a frozen enemy with a heavy physical or geo attack. It's not great and usually considered a bit of bonus damage
: Superconduct, deal some cryo damage to nearby enemies and more importantly debuffs their physical resistance by 40%. It's critical for physical teams, but not so useful for reaction ones.

Support:
There are two special reactions with geo and anemo. These two elements react with everything except each other and dendro.
: Swirl, spreads any elements on a target to it's neighbors and these can all cause more reactions. Think of swirl like an amplifier, it's amazing when you have lot's of elements already on enemies and can create a beautiful clusterfuck of reactions. By itself....it is not great.

: Crystallize, removes an element from a target and turns it into a little crystal that shields you when you pick it up. This is like a dampener, you are trading potential damage for more defense.

There is a lot of different terminology for teambuilding roles out there, some more specific and fiddly than others. This guide will split roles into 3 main categories, the carry, supports, and healers. Some characters are better suited for one role over another, but many characters can fulfill multiple roles depending on their gear.

Carry - This is the character that you will be actually attacking with on the field. Pick a character you like to play!

Support - This is a character that you swap into to use their skill or burst and then swap away from. They are here for setting up elemental reactions by applying elemental statuses or some special character mechanic (buffs, debuffs, etc). Being a support doesn't mean they don't deal damage, just that they don't have much field time relative to a carry.

A special type of support is the battery. They are the same element as your carry and generate lots of elemental particles (the little orbs flying at you in combat) to charge up your carry's burst. If possible, swap to your carry right after using the battery's skill so the carry picks up the generated orbs for even more energy.

Healer - They keep your party healthy with their skill or burst, some do so with direct heals and others by shielding. Can also be replaced by plates of pigeons chicken.

A fast way to build teams is to first pick out your favorite character(s), pick compatible reactions, and choose teammates based on which reactions you want.

When starting out, you want to invest into a carry character. They want the highest levels, best artifacts, best weapons, etc. Support and healer characters do not need as much investment and can easily lag behind by multiple ascensions.

If you want to try out the Spiral Abyss, consider building up another carry for taking on the higher floors. You will eventually need two teams even in the tutorial levels (floors 5-8).

As of writing this, most tierlists have been written back when the game just came out and are garbage. They were made in a rush and plenty of good characters were rated "D tier" for basically no reason other than to get clicks. Make a team based on your playstyle and preferences and don't let reddit get you down. We're happy to help suggest teams and character builds, but you need to tell us which characters you're using, constellations, and your world level so we know what you're working with. Advice for someone just starting out can be really different for someone near endgame!

Yep, this game has a stamina system and it’s called resin. You unlock it at Adventurer rank (AR) 8 and it is used to acquire most progression materials. Eventually, you'll unlock a recipe which will allow you to bank 200 resin at a time. If you want to play ~optimally~ you want to always use resin if you have it, but this is hardly required for enjoying the game if you're not rushing for the Spiral Abyss.

When you do feel like spending resin, here are some useful breakpoints

AR 8 - Blue leylines aka xp book leylines unlocked

AR 12 - Yellow leylines aka gold leylines unlocked. If you don’t know what to spend your resin on, you can’t go wrong with these at any AR.

AR 16 - Weapon Ascension materials dungeons unlocked.

AR 22 - Artifact dungeons unlocked, they will primarily drop 2*/3*. Not worth farming unless you’re really hard up for artifacts.

AR 27 - Talent level up materials dungeons unlocked.

AR 35 - A lot of unique artifact set dungeons unlocked. You will probably be getting 3* drops with the occasional 4*. You can start farming here but the value still isn’t great.

AR 40 - This is when 4* artifacts become more common and you start getting 5* in dungeons. I started seriously farming artifacts here.

AR 45 - This is when 5* artifacts become more common.

So you've played a bit of the game and reached Adventurer Rank 7, at this point the game will just drop a ton of gacha nonsense on you. If you have no idea wtf is happening, read on!

What is a gacha?
In short, gacha is basically equivalent to lootboxes. Use currency to roll the dice and you have a low chance of getting something shiny but you will mostly get junk. Yep, it's gambling! Gacha games are a common mobile genre. You might recognize games such as Fate Grand Order, Summoners War, Dragalia Lost, Marvel Battle Lines, etc. as examples of this genre.

Know what you're getting into and set a budget if you want to spend. One trick I use is to stay far away from places where people post their rolls, I know it's fun to do so but it's effectively the flashing lights on a slot machine and will fool you into thinking the chances are higher than they are.

Banners
Banners are how you get more characters and non craftable 4*/5* weapons. Do you need to roll on them? Again, the hardest content in the game has been cleared with free characters and events give out a free character every other patch. That being said, this is a character collector game and realistically most people will probably want to roll on the banners, even if it's just with free currency. The banners are roughly grouped as shown below.

:siren: THE BASE RATE FOR A 5* CHARACTER IS 0.6%. I REPEAT THE BASE RATE FOR A 5* CHARACTER IS 0.6% :siren: Keep this in mind if you’re planning to open your wallet! Girdle the loins!!

Bad Luck Protection
Luckily Genshin Impact has two independent bad luck protection systems and understanding them is critical for long term planning.
  • Hard and Soft Pity - Every banner group has a specific hard pity count. You are guaranteed a 5* character or weapon once you have made that many rolls on a banner. However, the rate of getting a 5* ramps up significantly when you reach the soft pity point and reaching hard pity is actually unheard of. This counter resets when you get a 5*, whether it's been 1 roll or 79 after your previous one.
  • 50/50 - AKA winning or losing the coinflip. When you do get a 5*, there is a 50% chance of it being the banner 5*. If get an off banner 5* instead, your next 5* is now guaranteed to be an on banner 5*. If you get an on banner 5*, whether from the guarantee or good luck, your odds on the next 5* are 50/50.
The bad luck protection systems are independent between the banner groups as shown above, but not within them. When you get your 50/50 guarantee on the character banner, that guarantee can apply to the current character banner, next banner, or even 10 banners later as long as you don't use it. However, your character guarantee does not affect weapons at all. The same goes for the pity counts, these do not reset. A quick way to check your progress towards a guarantee is using the roll history, although rolls older than 6 months will not show.

These bad luck protection systems are also in place for 4*s with a hard pity at 10 and soft pity at 9 rolls on all banners. However, there is no way to guarantee a specific on banner 4*.

Novice Banner
This is a special novice banner that every account can do two 10 rolls on for a discounted rate. ROLL ON THIS BANNER. This is your early game source of characters. It’s also just straight up cheaper than the normal banners and uses the same rolls as the standard banner, there is no reason not to use your early game currency on this banner.

Character Banner
A set of time limited banners that prominently features one 5* and three 4* rate up characters. You cannot roll 5* weapons on this banner but you can get 4* weapons. This is the equivalent to event banners in other gacha games. If you're not sure if you're looking at a character banner, look for a countdown on it. Soft pity starts at 74 with hard pity at 90.

Weapon Banner
A time limited banner that prominently features two 5* and four 4* weapons. You cannot roll 5* characters on this banner but you can get 4* characters. The 50/50 resets when you get either of the banner weapons, although this banner also has it's own unique bad luck protection system called the "Epitomized Path". You can select one of the 5* weapons to "aim" for and you are guaranteed to get it in at most 3 5* rolls, or in an average of 210 rolls. This will reset between banners. Yeah. This doesn't come up much for the average player. The weapon banner is risky for newbies and it is recommended you don't roll on it until you hit endgame and have an idea of what might be useful for your teams. Soft pity starts at 63 with hard pity at 80.

Standard Banner
This banner is always available and is labeled “Wanderlust Invocation”. It has no rate ups and contains both 4*/5* weapons and characters, basically a random grab bag. Currently it seems that 5*s on the character banner are not added to this, but it is common for them to be added later in gacha games. If you absolutely MUST have a specific character and they are not on the character banner, just....try to wait it out. Standard banner rates suck and you could be out literally thousands of dollars and still not get whichever anime waifu you’re chasing. Soft pity starts at 74 with hard pity at 90.

10 roll? 1 roll?
Due to the bad luck protection system it ends up being the same either way. Some people like saving up and doing big rolls at once, some people roll one at a time when they get the primos for it. Some do a combination and do 10 rolls till they're at soft pity and then single rolls after so they don't "waste" rolls after they get a 5*. Do whatever!

Wtf is with all these currencies?
How do you roll on these banners? Well there is some sort of Chinese gambling law that requires currencies to be obtuse and confusing, so here's a general breakdown

Genesis Crystals - You buy these with real money. You can technically spend these on supply bundles in the cash shop but those are TERRIBLE value and I'm pretty sure the bundles only exist to avoid gambling laws. You can also use them to buy cosmetics. The main purpose of genesis crystals is to exchange them 1:1 fooorr

Primogems - The actual premium currency in this game. You can get them by exchanging genesis crystals, buying the monthly gem pass (Welkin Moon), doing daily commissions, quests, spiral abyss, events, open world stuff, etc. For straight dollar:gem value the Welkin Moon beats out the genesis crystal packs if you're willing to log in every day. You can spend primogems on resin recharges, battle pass levels, and most importantly, rolling on the banners!

Intertwined Fate - Costs 160 primogems. These can be used on the character and weapon banners, spend primos on these!

Acquaint Fate - Costs 160 primogems. The game also gives a few out for free. These can only be used on the standard and novice banners, so don't feel obligated to save them up. Do not spend primos on these!

You can buy fates directly on the banner page so you don’t need to keep track of exactly which is which or worry about accidentally buying the wrong ones. There are also two bonus currencies that you can only get from rolling on banners which are spent at the Paimons Bargains tab in the shop.

Stardust - you get 15 stardust for every 3* weapon that you roll. You can trade these in for a rotating selection of materials, but the best use is to buy out as many of the intertwined fates as you can. You can buy 5 intertwined and 5 acquaint fates with stardust per month. The stock refreshes the first day of each month.

Starglitter - you get these when you roll 4*/5* weapons and duplicate 4*/5* characters. For weapons and non maxed out characters, you get 2 or 5 depending on the rarity. For maxed out characters, this goes up to 5/25. There's a few more options for spending these, you can use them to directly buy a 4* character or weapon from the shop. Every month rotates two 4* characters and a set of 4* weapons. You can also spend the starglitter on fates with no monthly limit.

The general rule of thumb is if you're starting out, buying characters is the way to go. ESPECIALLY for getting your hands on Bennet, Xingqiu, and Xiangling. Since the rotation is limited to the starter 4*s, you will eventually reach a point where you don't need more copies. Then, it is better to spend the glitter on intertwined fates unless you neeeeed to collect all the constellations. The weapons are....fine. They are not really BiS for anyone, but they aren't terrible either. I wouldn't recommend buying them.

TL;DR
  • Don’t buy the supply packs with genesis crystals
  • Don't spend primos on the blue fates
  • Do spend primos on purple fates
  • If you must spend money, the Welkin Moon monthly gems is by far the best value for your buck

I hate my account

By the way, probably nobody cares, but just for the record: it is no longer practical to reroll, because the AR 7 rewards are gone. So you only get the 10 newbie rolls.
Here’s a reroll guide anyway just in case idk

Co-op and you
Co-op in this game may seem somewhat obtuse. While domains (and some events) have an automatic matchmaker, that is not the only content in this game that you can co-op. Anything that requires resin can be done co-op, everyone can spend resin at the end and the rewards are instanced. Boss kicking your rear end? Team up and wreck it! Can't get that leyline weekly in time? Team up with some people so all of you can get a bunch in one day without needing to spend resin! Want to do the highest level of an event thing but it's just too much of a PITA? Find some goons!! We have a discord with a bunch of people in it, feel free to come by and say something.

General Build Information
Character Builds Spreadsheet - A spreadsheet maintained by the theorycrafting community with recommended artifact and weapon loadouts for characters.

Keqing Mains Website - Gives detailed rundowns on specific characters and their playstyles, along with some basic team suggestions. This is updated much more slowly and some builds may not have the newest weapons or artifact sets. However, the guides tend to be pretty good for explaining how to actually use a character.

Player housing!

There is player housing and it's pretty decent, chop wood in the overworld, unlock recipes, and craft furniture. Do not ignore the teapot! Once you upgrade it the teapot shop will sell a fragile resin that decays in a week, artifact xp, xp books, and some other stuff for teapot currency each week. It's real good even if you don't care for decorating! Just plop down items wherever, the teapot doesn't care.

Some things to know
  • Teapot level unlocks more building space and things at the shop, this is upgraded by crafting lots of different furniture for trust. Adeptal energy level increases how much currency you gain over time, this is increased by the comfort score of the furniture you place. Load is an invisible counter on each piece of furniture that limits how much stuff you can put down in one area.
  • Basic teapot strategy:
    • Buy out the daily adeptal speed potions until your adeptal energy level is almost maxed (between 15k-20k)
    • Prioritize buying high rarity blueprints from the shop
    • If you don't have any new furniture to craft, spam furniture with a high ratio of comfort/load. Common options are Pine Folding Screen (indoors) and Carved Courtyard Fence (outdoors)
  • You will eventually unlock multiple layouts. Teapot and adeptal energy levels are based on the layout with the highest rating, not your current active one. You can hide your ugly mining rigs in a completely separate layout and still get all the benefits!
  • It is possible for friends to join your teapot while you're offline. This setting is found in the top right corner of your teapot map where it (probably) says no guests currently, set it to allow direct join. Friends can help speed up your furniture crafting, feel free to ask in the discord if you want a boost!

Parametric Transformer
The often forgotten but still pretty handy junk eater. Throw in your extra junk once a week and get some random useful upgrade items back (xp books, mora, weapon upgrade materials, talent books). Results are random but there may be a way to bias them towards certain sets of rewards, the groupings are recorded here. Input quality does not matter

I think they have definitly expanded on your story questions in Inazuma and especially Enkanomiya/Chasm, but no hard answers about the mysterious god yet. Just rolled Dori. Not hearing good things in the thread about her but I will give her a spin for a bit.

I've heard that dori is in this weird spot where she's hard to build in single player....but she's amazing in multiplayer? She puts out lots of heals and energy and the stat requirements are not as high.

Also I think geo is in a pretty good spot with the new resonance and characters but I've also been a geo main since the start soooo

So the only 4* I have on this banner is sayu. I throw in 60 rolls and what do I get?

4 sayus :shepicide: I have a guarantee I want to save for the dendro archon too

Getting back into this after dipping out early 2021, before Inazuma came out. Anyone got a TL;DR for anything important I should do first? I'm AR45 fwiw, monstadt/liyue/dragonspire are all pretty much complete. Got a shitton of primogen from occasionally logging in over the last year just to claim poo poo, I don't have Venti, is it worth trying for him on the current banner? Or is he garbage tier now?

Venti is still really good. Basically he still abosultely wrecks anything that he can vaccume up into the gently caress cloud, but there are more fat enemies that only slowly get pulled in or resist it now. Fat enemies arent much of a thing (as far as I can tell) in sumeru but they're all over Inazuma.

Tl;Dr venti is still pretty good

Honestly I'm not sure how mondstat even runs itself, the knights technically have power but they couldn't even tell a child to get back inside the walls when there was a literal natural disaster on their doorstep

The Chinese voice cast is really good, though? No idea about their star status, but they're really, really good.

Yeah I find them generally really excellent. It's definitly got a different style though, feels more subdued and natural vs the exaggerated style common in anime and English dubs. Paimon sounds like she could be someone's excited little sibling :3

We haven't had time yet to try out the puzzle event (:negative:) but I'm looking forward to trying it out with my girlfriend. Sure we could easily do it individually but it's nice to be able to play together

Is there a specific channel in the discord people are talking about the general writing of the game's quality? Specifically the hangouts.

I've only done the base ones; Noelle, Barbara, Bennet, Chongyun, so granted, I can't say much to their quality later on but I'd still love to know more about what people think about them in general because I'm very easily swayed by people's opinions of how things could be more interesting.

sounds like the story and lore channel

So I finally acquired Baby Cabbage today. Since the build guide that I've been using (the one that's been linked here many times) hasn't been updated to include her yet, does anyone have any input on weapons for her? Especially for someone who DOESN'T pull on the weapon banner?

I would be looking at maybe Widsith and Sacrificial Fragments if you can. Sacrificial Fragments has the EM substat while Widsith is just generally good for off field characters. Pure F2P wise I would consider maybe the Prototype Amber because her burst is up all the time and the healing is nice and maybe the Hakushin Ring if you're doing a lot of electro reactions. Maayybee the sumeru craftable weapon could work too, but it's got one of those weird passives so it seems really finnicky.

Edit: I never noticed that sacrificial fragments has an EM substat, fixing. Also I have no idea where you get the Mappa Mare recipe from but it's craftable and should be pretty decent for Nahida if you've got the recipe :psyduck:

Bad News: Its marked up about 30 bucks.

They seem to have dictated that she and Itto may never cross paths in game. Also that Yae Miko must be present in every Inazuma event and just for the heck of it random other ones. I feel like shes now gotten the most screen time of any Inazuma character

They don't do the TCG thing in the Japanese translation, can't tell if this is the English translators being overly literal translating the Chinese version or referencing the "official" name of most card games without realizing they're only called that in marketing materials.

I was pulling for Faruzan and got a really early pity and it was probably the first time I've ever been happy to see Diluc.

I don't seem to hear anything weird in Chinese either. Even though I can only understand the proper name of the game about as well as your average non Chinese speaker, I'd be shocked if they managed to squeeze in the name + TCG into about 3 words. English translation gona keep being weird like that I guess

Speaking of which, what is a good estimate of wishes per 5* overall? Like maybe 60-65? Even if you go to pity several times in a row, eventually you will early pull stuff. Is there a average 5* per 1000 wishes based off some large sample size of public data?

Paimon.moe has some data here, it's split by character banners though

After doing the Windblume into, I'm wondering: are Cyno's jokes just as utterly non-functional in other languages? Like, there's a couple of them that just straight up do not work on any conceivable level.
It's honestly done more to sell me on him as a character than the archon and story quest ever did.

I haven't done the windbloom intro but when he came out there was some marketing saying that he loves telling jokes but is awful at it, and then proceeded to never attempt a joke in the archon or story quests.
