The way for them to heal would be for the police to take it seriously and punish the perpetrators, either by putting them in juvie, removing parental custody based on them clearly being poo poo enough to raise monsters, etc. But in the meantime all you can do is let the victim know their feelings are valid and they're not crazy for thinking what happened is hosed. Lovebombing basically.
