Damn it, this always happens. I think I'm gonna score, and then I never score. It's not fair.

Or that working with Fangio could be better long term. If Miami’s defense does well, he could get shots as a DC again elsewhere with better long term odds than staying with the Chargers this year, or be in line to replace Fangio in a few years for whatever reason (Vic is gonna be 65 when the season starts, so I’m not sure if he’d get a crack at another HC job or be closer to retiring or what).

Yeah absolutely, a chance to work closely with Fangio again is probably better for this prospects long term.

Id have to agree with this. It’s likely to coach with Fangio and take over his system once he retires in 2-3 years. He’s making HC money to turn around Miamis defense.

Curious to see what moves they make in FA. That’ll dictate quite a bit about their thought process going into 2023/2024

I hope the Lions did that with Ben Johnson.

I don't think they mean more money than the Cardinals were offering, just more money at DC than he was previously making.

I mean, it explicitly says the Eagles offered him more money than the Cardinals. So I'm not sure where you're coming from with this one.

I am excited for ~week 6 when it's obvious that the Eagle's Defense improved without Gannon and that Gannon is Hackett'ing the Cards.

Maybe, but he did interview for the full-time job after the season, so if there's some saltiness there I'd guess it was from not making the second round of interviews.

General reporting seems to be that he was the guy Ballard wanted for the interim job, so if he's pissed at Ballard that doesn't make a lot of sense.

lol why would anyone hire this guy after seeing how the Colts line played last year?

Also I'm sad Bubba might/is leaving. He is a very good coach and that would be the first bad move for the Colts this offseason.

Isn’t Staley the actual DC and his coordinator just helps with game planning? Not sure to what level he delegates his side of the ball.

Like Saleh doesn’t call defensive plays but it’s his scheme.
