Does anyone remember a video game themed around a Stepford Wife-like town where you get arrested for not smiling? I think it might've been an old one featured on X-Play, or there might have been two like that and one involved making everyone wear happy masks, but I'd like to hear about any game that has that theme

That's We Happy Few / We Crappy Pew

I don't know about anti-war in general but Modern Warfare 1 has a few things to say about America and the Middle East

Modern Warfare 2 and onward has the exact opposite to say about it

One of my favorite parts is when the US military and the SAS meet up and the Rangers and SAS logos slam into each other and look all badass

The meetup is like two rangers because all the others are dead. Every named American soldier dies by the end of the game lmao

After shouting "gently caress you!" at my tv more times in the last two days than in the entire previous year, I have decided to put Circle of the Moon on hold for a while. As a palette cleanser, I have moved on to Harmony of Dissonance because why not, it came with the bundle too.

Oh my God it's like night and day, I feel like I can breathe again. I had forgotten that controls could feel snappy and that there are enemies that can actually be dodged, and whose attacks don't loving petrify you or send you flopping across the screen like a hocked loogie. It's all so garish and acid trip colorful, it's like playing the videogame adaptation of Creepshow, or some old EC horror comic.

Music's more forgettable though, I kinda miss the surf rock

Circle of the Moon owns but it really expects some grinding or certain cards to not get owned

MGS is fine but the grind to unlock stuff and the mission set-up is pretty dull. I enjoyed it but didn't get halfway to finishing it

Revengeance owns and is one of a handful of games Platinum has made that's actually good

Unrelated but Metroid Fusion with an item randomizer is cool as hell.
