According to UPI | Number of MLB Players by Nationality: United States of America - 525 Dominican Republic - 90 Venezuela - 53 Cuba - 20 Puerto Rico - 19 Mexico - 8 Canada - 6 Japan - 6 Curacao - 5 South Korea - 5 Colombia - 4 Germany - 2 Australia, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Aruba, Brazil, Panama - 1 So the MLB players are not really coming from the West Indies cricket countries.
