Brittany Higgins case is effectively becoming a rapists charter. Deny, Dely, Obfiscate and drive the victimn into hiding. I previously asserted that the main way to judge this government would be what they did towards dismantaling the toxic shark tank that is Home Affairs. The whole organisation reeks of cronism and bull boy culture. Crypto currrency is not fit for purpose: https://news.climate.columbia.edu/2022/05/04/cryptocurrency-energy/

This is more words on the subject than I thought I would ever write but here we go. The many people who have opted out have, on the whole, done so because we live in an increasingly authoritarian oligarchic state. Some people dislike authoritarianism more than others. I live as far away from the rest of you worthless compliant drones as I possibly can because, we as a society, seem to tacitally allow this sort of bullshit to continue. Some people who have opted out just take any aspect of society demanding they comply (eg mandatory vaxination) as fundamentally abhorent. I personally believe in evidence based medicine and evidence based every thing else, but that takes a level of engagement that many of the people who have opted out are not willing to involve themselves in. I call them "Hippie foo foo". tl;dr - "cookers" are a symptom, not the problem. And not too far from this: https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-01-11/icac-report-daryl-maguire-gladys-berejiklian-delayed/101844426 There is no way this report is being delayed due to anything to do with "complexities". It has straight up been sandbagged and the (Yes this is actually the case) loving outsourced resource that was put on to do the job has been entirely responsible for continuing the delay. It should have been released at least six months ago. Informed sources say that there is no reason even starting today it couldn't be released within a fortnight. Even then it would be too late for an informed debate to be prosecuted before the effective start of the election. No wonder people don't trust government. And as an aside although Pell should be condemend for all the peddo mess he was also the establishment's stalking horse for all kinds of abhorent LBQTIA+ prejudices. gently caress that idiot.

Based on my understanding of general public opinion, even a milquetoast Koala preservation policy that was agressively pushed, would see the ALP win in a landslide. https://www.nbnnews.com.au/2022/12/21/new-data-reveals-increase-in-logging-operations-across-mid-north-coast/ https://www.theguardian.com/environ...on-over-logging https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2023/jan/05/nsw-forests-could-become-net-carbon-emitters-in-coming-decades-report-finds https://www.abc.net.au/news/2022-03-17/north-coast-wood-supply-contract-extension-negotiations/100915142 https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-06/native-forest-logging-protests-north-coast-nsw-election/101934810 Branding the current clowns as 'Koala Killers' would be incredibly effective and has the added advantage of being true. Brutal footage of the current logging, where timbers as small as 10 cm diameter are being harvested, is easily obtainable. Locally it is like a gold rush where the race to strip all the available timber will not stop until there is none left. Not that a NSW ALP government would do poo poo about it. Chaining yourself to something seems to be the only available path at the moment.

Already obsolete. Lol. https://www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2021/oct/05/will-all-submarines-even-nuclear-ones-be-obsolete-and-visible-by-2040 We won't get to see the TOP SECRET minister level breifings that have led to this enormously extravagent spend, but they really, really need to address this issue in some significant detail or it will be money pissed up the wall. It is so foreseeable that you might note that Guardian article is from 2021. And lets not mention our disposal of the associated Nuclear waste, a problem that has been 'considered' by not worrying about it until we actually get some (waste) in 2050. Perhaps the hope is that this will also be subject to inevitable delays so we don't have to come up with a solution for a bit longer. Or maybe we can equivocate about the sovereignty of the waste and tell the yanks/poms it's their problem.

Within the current system we need to start generating surpluses so we can start to reduce our interest bill. https://www.aph.gov.au/About_Parliament/Parliamentary_departments/Parliamentary_Library/pubs/rp/BudgetReview202223/AustralianGovernmentDebt 18 billion a year (and rising) is a huge impost on our budget. Personally I'd: Renege on our foreign debt like so many other countries have with no consequence (Notably Brazil who will soon be in the G8). Abolish our military and collect the savings(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_without_armed_forces). Reverse all the obvious contributors to our increasingly stupid structural deficit (Stage three tax cuts first). But I could call it the Free Sex Party and still nobody would vote for it.

https://www.abc.net.au/radionational/programs/breakfast/is-the-government-too-reliant-on-consultants-/102414006 I thought that this was Kitty Flanagan doing a promo for the new Utopia series. Nope. It is Liberal Senator Jane Hume trying to cashsplain PWC and the enormous culture of coruption and crime that her government "oversaw". I put in the quotes because it was actually PWC that did the overseeing and were paid top dollar for their efforts. It begs the question: Given PWC can't be trusted with commercial secrets shouldn't all of the Top Secret clearances for their consultants be cancelled pending a review? Oh wait forget I spoke. It's one of the big 4 that handles security clearances now too. Silly me.

It is easy to make fun of Bucky, so.. No that's all I've got really. The sheer volume of butthurt coming from the employers about paying workers the same amount for the same work is astonishing. And seeing as how productivity has become the most recent cause de jure of everything bad. https://www.abs.gov.au/statistics/industry/industry-overview/estimates-industry-multifactor-productivity/latest-release Note that this graph includes both Labour and Multifactor productivity. Wow! Multifactor productivity is going gang busters! Driven entirely by a bumper grain harvest. Those business execs have done it again with their enormous brains! We should pay them more and tax them way less. I would additionally note that while the last reporting period saw a decline in the rate of labour productivity growth it is still growing at 1.5%. Compared to the rate of real wages growth of.. - 4.5% https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-02-22/wages-growing-at-3-3-per-cent-december-quarter-2022/102007390 quote:But real wages (adjusted for inflation), have declined by 4.5 per cent over the past year A/ Is lying. B/ Needs to back pay for all the times in the last 50 years that Labour productivity outstripped wages growth. Spoiler! It was almost every year. C/ Needs a wood chipper to jump into.

A lot of captured and/or boomer brained unions are probably about the same; just this unspoken, unthinking dedication to completely pulling up the ladder and blocking any further advancement.
