Especially if they play a bit fast & loose with the chronology and have guys like Gimli and Legolas stick around long enough to make cameo appearances for nostalgia bait. IIRC Tolkien literally got like only one chapter into writing it before realizing that it was going to suck hard and stopped. Real respect.
