Do people around the league really even know/respect Guentzel as a player anyway? He's 30th in the league for points and 16th in goals since his first full season in 2017-18 but I get the sense that he doesn't really rate that highly in people's minds and his game in general is just very... plain as far as a PPG player's game can be. there's plenty of reasons for the Sabres to be optimistic. Tage is the real deal, as is Dahlin. The rest of the defense is super young and only gonna get better. Levi and Luukkonen seem promising, if a little ways off from full time roles. my big questions are like... Jeff Skinner... is he fixed? Does Tuch have another season like this in him or is he really a 50 point guy? Same for Cozens and Mittelstadt. But the good news is that success doesn't really rely on the forwards repeating this sort of performance (which is unlikely). They're 3rd in the league for GF, but they absolutely have to get better defense/goaltending. There's not a single team close to 300 goals against that have sniffed the playoffs
