Main Card - 8 PM ET, Amazon Prime
Featherweight Title (Muay Thai) - Nong-O Gaiyanghadao vs Jonathan “The General” Haggerty
Nong-O has a 265-54 kickboxing record. He’s the current ONE 145 lb Muay Thai champ, with seven successful defenses of the title, and he’s on a 10 fight win streak, all in ONE.
Haggerty is 20-4 in kickboxing and is the former ONE 135 lb Muay Thai champion. Since losing the title and a rematch to Rodtang, Haggerty has won four bouts in a row.
Haggerty is younger by about 10 years, and he’s got about 5 inches of reach on Nong-O, but c’mon, it’s Nong-O. He’s going to punch this man in the face 1000 times exactly.
Welterweight - Halil Amir vs Maurice Abevi
Amir is 8-0 with one sub and 7 TKO wins. He won his ONE debut last September, beating up Tim Nasty by second round TKO.
Abevi is 6-0 with 3 TKO and 3 sub wins. He’s making his first venture outside of Europe, having fought mostly in Germany.
Amir has proven himself against a known quantity in Nastyukhin, which is more than can be said about Abevi.
Flyweight - Bokang “Little Giant” Masunyane vs Hiroba Minowa
Masunyane is 8-1 with one TKO and one submission win. He’s 2-1 in ONE, losing his latest bout to Jarred Brooks by first round RNC last year.
Minowa is 13-3 with 3 TKO and 8 sub wins. He’s also 2-1 in ONE, and he also lost to Jarred Brooks in his most recent fight.
Someone’s about to begin a two fight losing streak and each fighter is vehemently pointing at their opponent, going “no, u”.
Featherweight (Muay Thai) - Saempetch Fairtex vs Felipe “Demolition Man” Lobo
Saempetch is 125-18 in kickboxing. He is 7-3 in ONE, currently riding a two fight win streak.
Lobo is 2-1 inside the ONE Circle, losing to Nong-O in a bid for the title. No shame in losing to Nong-O, man. Most people do.
Muay Thai is always fun to watch, and it is even more funner when it is fought with small gloves.
Strawweight - Denice “The Menace” Zamboanga vs Julie Mezabarba
Zamboanga is 9-2, with 2 TKO and 3 submission wins. She’s gone 4-2 in ONE, or more accurately, 4-Seo Hee Ham. Since back to back losses to Hamderlei, Zamboanga has bounced back with a split decision win over Heqin Lin.
Mezabarba is 9-4, with 3 TKO victories. She is 1-2 in ONE, dropping her last two. I’m also a little surprised she won her first fight in ONE, considering her Brazilian regional career was spent fighting sub-0.500 fighters, so a win over Mei Yamaguchi is kind of an impressive feat.
Not saying I’m a language expert, but I’m pretty sure Julie’s last name translates to “Half a Barbara”, and I think it would take a full Barbara to beat Zamboanga.
Middleweight - Isi “Doxz” Fitikefu vs Valmir “Junior” da Silva
Doxz is 7-1 with one win by submission and 4 by TKO. In his ONE debut, Doxz lost by decision to my main man, the Snow Leopard, Ruslan Emilbek. Doxz is a terrible nickname so I’m going to type it as often as possible as a kind of immersion therapy to make it seem less horrible. Doxz!
Valmir is a desolate planet in the Marvel Universe where the Soul Stone can be found. Wait, I hosed up. Valmir da Silva is 9-2 with one sub and 8 TKO wins. He is 1-1 in ONE, losing his debut by first round TKO, but he returned to his winning ways with a second round submission back in July of 2022.
I hope Doxz loses and is cut from ONE and I never have to think about Doxz again.
Flyweight - Bo Meng vs Dayane “Monster” Cardoso
Meng is 20-6, having notched 8 wins by TKO and 6 by submission. She is 4-2 in ONE, having ended a two fight skid with an impressive sub-30 second TKO in December. Meng might be most notable for beating Weili Zhang in both women’s pro debuts. She then lost her next bout to Yanan Wu, who is 1-5 in the UFC, showing just how much a land of contrasts is Bo Meng.
Cardoso is 9-1 with 5 TKO and 2 sub wins. She’s currently on a six fight win streak, including her ONE debut last year.
Both fighters seem to have assembled a solid list of wins, and both finish more of their fights than not. This should be a good match up to either shake out or shake up the 125 lb division, though it’s impossible to tell since ONE doesn’t include rankings for them.
Bantamweight (Muay Thai) - Denis “The Bosnian Menace” Puric vs Jacob Smith
Puric is 1-1 in ONE kickboxing.
Smith has had one fight in ONE, losing to Rodtang last year. He’s also apparently a British Muay Thai champion, which is an accomplishment I somehow rate lower than being a British wrestling champ.
Hopefully these two guys put on a good show, but it’s just not as fun without a Thai pummeling them for fifteen minutes.
Featherweight (Muay Thai) - Han Zi Hao vs Asa “The American Ninja” Ten Pow
Hao is 61-25 in kickboxing, going 7-5 in ONE. He lost in his last bout against Ferrari Fairtex in September.
Ten Pow made his ONE debut last October, losing to Mehdi Zatout at the end of the first round.
Han Zi Hao has a pretty solid kickboxing record, and Asa Ten Pow went 6-1 in Glory, which is pretty solid. This should be a good kickpunch contest.
Featherweight - Jhanlo Mark “The Machine” Sangiao vs Matias Farinelli
Sangiao is 5-0, with one TKO and 4 submission wins, with every single bout ending inside the first round. He is 2-0 in ONE.
Farinelli is also 5-0, with all of his fights ending by submission. He has, however, seen the second round twice. He also hasn’t ever fought someone with a winning record, so in addition to fighting outside of Argentina for the first time, that’s going to be something new for Farinelli.
Nothing like ONE bringing in some guy with a paper record to make the local hero look good. I realize this fight is in Singapore and Sangiao is from the Philippines, but he’s a hell of a lot more local than Farinelli.

Bellator 294 - Friday, April 21
Main Card - 10 PM ET, Showtime
Flyweight Title - Liz “Girl-Rilla” Carmouch vs DeAnna “Vitamin D” Bennett
Carmouche is 18-7 with 8 TKO and 4 submission wins. She’s a perfect 5-0 in Bellator with only one of those bouts going the distance. After winning the 125 lb title under allegedly dubious stoppage circumstances, Carmouche silenced the doubters with an emphatic second round submission win.
Bennett is 13-7 with 2 sub and 2 TKO wins. She’s 3-1 in Bellator, losing her promotional debut to Carmouche, but rattling off 3 wins in a row since then, all by decision.
Bennett has done ok since the Liz Loss, but Carmouche has looked very impressive. I’m thinking either a club n sub or a standing TKO win for Girl-Rilla.
Heavyweight - Tim Johnson vs Said Sowma
Johnson’s overall record is 15-9, and he’s got 8 TKO and 3 wins by submission. He’s currently 3-5 in Bellator, losing his last three in a row, the last two by first round TKO. I guess UFC was smart to cut bait on Large Timothy, as he looks exceedingly washed at this point.
Sowma has amassed a 8-4 record, boasting 5 TKO and a lone submission victory. He is 2-3 in Bellator, beating up former middleweight Ronny Markes, and winning by broken finger injury TKO.
To give the slightest credit to Sowma, two of his losses were by split decision, so it’s not unfathomable that he could be 4-1, depending on the insane whims of capricious judges. Anyway, this fight should be a real slopfest that either ends inside 90 seconds or it will go the full 15 and feel like 3 hours.
Featherweight - Arlene “Angerfist” Blencowe vs Sara McMann
Blencowe brings a 15-9 record with 1 sub and 8 TKO wins. She has gone 8-5 in Bellator, most recently losing to Cris Cyborg last April.
McMann is 13-6 with 2 TKO and 4 sub wins. She finished her UFC run at 7-6, ending with a win over Karol Rosa in March 2022. Though, more accurately, her UFC run ended with her on the couch, hoping Aspen Ladd would be able to make weight safely for them to fight.
We’ve got a puncher versus wrestler matchup, and it’s usually smart money to take the grappler.
Bantamweight - Danny “The Italian Gangster” Sabatello vs Marcos Breno
Sabatello is 13-2 with 3 TKO and 4 submission wins. He’s 3-1 in Bellator, most recently losing to Raufeon Stots in the Semi-Finals of the Bantamweight Grand Prix.
Breno is 15-2 with 8 TKO and 5 submission wins. He’s 1-0 in Bellator, and is on a 3 fight win streak overall. Breno’s the kind of coddled can crusher who was still fighting 1-2 guys when he was 11-1.
Sabatello is probably going to win because There Are Levels To This poo poo. However, it will likely not be fun or entertaining in the slightest. Instead of watching this fight, go, run free. Escape this prison of drudgery and poo poo-talking Italian-Americans who are desperately trying to be The Next Conor but they lack the flash and excitement in the cage to be anything more than a wet fart from a warm butt.
Welterweight - Levan Chokheli vs Michael “The Don” Lombardo
Chokheli is 11-2 with 9 TKO wins. He’s 2-2 in Bellator, winning both bouts by decision. Before Bellator, it took him 7 fights to face someone with a single MMA win, and 9 to face someone with a winning record.
Lombardo’s record is 13-3 with 5 TKO and 3 sub wins. He’s 2-1 in Bellator overall, but his first bout was in 2017 and after that he scuttled off to the regional scene, so in this new run, he’s 1-1, winning his last bout by first round TKO.
Both guys were decisioned by Kyle Crutchmer in his role as the Bellator Welcoming Committee. Lombardo beat a few slightly decent guys on the regionals, but I think Chokheli’s Bellator wins are better. Tough one to call.

Lightweight - Killys Mota vs Kenneth “The Boss” Cross
Mota brings a 14-3 mark to this bout, with 6 TKO and 4 sub wins. He is 3-2 in Bellator, winning his last two bouts by decision.
Cross is 13-3 with 5 TKO and 6 sub wins. He’s currently riding a 7 fight win streak, but one guy was 2-5 and one was 1-4.
Mota has faced tougher competition, so I gotta give him a slight edge.
Heavyweight - Tyrell Fortune vs Sergey Bilostenniy
Fortune is 12-3 with one sub and 8 TKO wins, and every single bout has taken place in Bellator. He lost his most recent fight by second round TKO in November, and hasn’t strung together multiple wins since 2021.
Bilostenniy is 10-2 with 7 wins by TKO. He’s on a five fight win streak, but he’s making his first venture outside of Russia.
Fortune is a solid wrestler, but he’s fell in love with standing and also banging a bit because as must always be stated: fighters are real dumb and will gleefully run from their strengths to instead implement a real Moron’s Gameplan.
Featherweight - Cris “Sunshine” Lencioni vs Blake Smith
Lencioni is 10-3 with 5 wins by sub. He went 4-2 in Bellator from 2017 to 2020, and returned last year to notch another win. He’s currently riding a three fight win streak.
Smith is 7-3 with 2 TKO and 3 sub wins. His four fight win streak was snapped last November.
Lencioni’s faced some better fighters on a bigger stage.
Middleweight - Anthony “Sugafoot” Adams vs Sharaf “Wolfhound” Davlatmurodov
Adams has a 9-3 record with a lone, sad, single TKO win. He’s 1-0 in LFA, 0-2 on the Contender Series, and 1-1 in Bellator, losing his last bout.
Davlatmurodov is 18-4, bringing 8 TKO and 5 submission wins to the table. He went 2-0 in ACA and 5-3 in ACB, and is currently 0-1 in Bellator, having last fought in 2021.
Davlatmurodov is probably solid when he is fighting, but he hasn’t been fighting recently.

Bellator 295 - Saturday, April 22
Main Card - 10 PM ET, Showtime
Bantamweight Grand Prix Final - Raufeon “Supa” Stots vs Patchy “No Love” Mix
Stots is 19-1 with 4 TKO and 4 sub wins. He’s a perfect 7-0 in Bellator as part of his overall 11 fight winning streak dating back to 2017.
Mix is 17-1 with 1 TKO and 12 submission wins. He’s 6-1 in Bellator overall, with 4 straight wins.
Stots had some problems with Sabatello’s wrestling, and Mix is a far more offensively-focused grappler. If Mix can get his hands on Stots, expect Patchy to look for submissions early and often. However, as we often see with people who min-max to be excellent grapplers, the rest of their game lags far behind. If Raufeon can keep the fight standing, there’s a good chance he butchers Mix on the feet.
Flyweight - Ilima-Lei “The Iliminator” Macfarlane vs Kana Watanabe
Macfarlane is 12-2 with 2 TKO and 6 sub wins. She’s 11-2 in Bellator, winning her latest bout in August.
Watanabe is 11-1 with 3 TKO and 4 sub wins. She’s 3-1 in Bellator, winning her most recent bout by triangle last May.
Got a pair of grappley gals, should be good!
Featherweight - Aaron Pico vs James “The Alley Cat” Gonzalez
Pico is 10-4 with 7 TKO and 2 sub wins, with all of his pro bouts taking place inside the world famous Bellator Circlegon. Prior to his shoulder falling apart last October, Pico was riding a 6-fight win streak.
Gonzalez is 10-5 with 3 TKO and 2 sub wins. He’s 1-0 in Bellator, but did a brief jaunt to the PFL Challenger Series. Despite winning by first round TKO there, he isn’t in the regular PFL 2023 season. Kinda weird.
My personal vendetta against Pico has mostly subsided. He’s lost enough that I can finally view him as a fighter, and not the Special Bellator Boy who gets the easy matchups (that he doesn’t always win and I get to laugh and laugh). He’s probably going to win this one, he’s got a lot of high level experience.
Flyweight - Ray “The Tazmexican Devil” Borg vs Kyoji Horiguchi
Borg is 16-5 with 1 TKO and 6 submission wins. He’s on a 3-fight win streak since he left the UFC in 2020.
Horiguchi is 31-5 with 15 TKO and 4 sub wins. He’s 2-2 in Bellator, having dropped his two most recent bouts in the Circlegon, but he bounced back with another pair of wins in Rizin.
We got two guys who were 24 and 25 when they got trounced by DJ. Borg’s career has gone pretty bad since then. He hasn’t lost a ton, he’s just been unable to step inside the cage. Horiguchi has looked good since that DJ loss, except those two Bellator defeats, which feel like huge letdowns. I feel like Horiguchi is a lot better, but it’s hard to say what Borg looks like since he’s fought so infrequently. Sure, he’s been a bit more active of late, but it also hasn’t been against the highest levels of opponents. THIS FIGHT IS OFF AND I AM UPSET

Featherweight - Mads Burnell vs Justin “J-Train” Gonzales
Burnell is 16-5 with 1 TKO and 9 sub wins. He’s 3-2 in Bellator, losing his last two, both by decision.
Gonzales is 14-1, with 4 TKO and 1 sub win. He’s 3-1 in Bellator, currently on a 2 fight win streak.
Other than Aaron Pico, Gonzales has fought the same level of Bellator competition as Burnell. I should caveat that I am a Mads Burnell Doubter, and I’m ready to be proven disastrously wrong, as per usual.
Lightweight - Yancy Medeiros vs Charlie “917” Leary
Medeiros is 15-8, with 7 wins by TKO and 4 by submission. He won his Bellator debut last year by decision. Primarily a brawler, his last stoppage win was in 2017. To be fair to Yancy, he didn’t have any kind of win between that one and the Bellator fight.
Leary’s record is 17-13 with 9 TKO and 3 sub wins. He’s 3-4 in Bellator, having lost his last two.
Looks like we’ve got a Captain Cook situation brewing! To put it plainly, I hope a Native Hawaiian beats the hell out of a British.
Featherweight - Kai “Fighting Hawaiian” Kamaka III vs Adli “Sunshine” Edwards
Kamaka is 10-5 with just one TKO and just one sub win. He’s 4-1 in Bellator, notching his first career stoppage win in his latest fight.
Edwards is 9-2 with 2 TKO and 3 sub wins. He is 0-1 in Bellator, getting punched out by Aaron Pico last April, snapping a 7-fight win streak.
The Pico fight was a big step up in competition for Edwards. Kamaka should be slightly more his speed, but I think Kai is probably a bit better.
Flyweight - Sumika “Lady Samurai” Inaba vs Veta Arteaga
Inaba is a perfect 5-0, all fights in Bellator, with 3 TKO and one submission win.
Arteaga is 7-4 with 1 TKO and 2 sub wins. She’s 6-4 in Bellator, currently on a two fight win streak.
This will be Inaba’s biggest test to see if she can move up the 125 lb rankings. She’s early in her MMA career, but she’s 32, having gotten a pretty late start in face punching. This will also be just the second time Inaba has faced someone with a winning record, so we’ll see how prepared the Lady Samurai is.
Featherweight - Keoni Diggs vs Weber “The Silverback” Almeida
Diggs is 10-2 with 1 TKO and 6 wins by sub. He’s 3-2 in Bellator, ending a two fight losing streak with a decision win last October.
Almeida is 7-1 with 6 of his wins coming by TKO. Weber is 5-1 in Bellator, winning his last two after tasting defeat for the first time as a professional back in 2021.
Two mid-30s featherweights fighting on the early part of the Bellator Human Sacrifice Hour prelims. Let’s just hope we get some promised mayhem, violence, and bloodshed, fellas.
Lightweight - Bobby King vs Aalon Cruz
King is 12-5 with 3 wins by TKO and 5 by submission. He has gone 3-2 in Bellator so far, losing to the two good fighters he’s faced, Alexander Shabily and Gadzhi Rabadanov. To King’s credit, he went the distance in both of them.
Cruz brings an overall record of 10-4 to the cage, with 4 TKO and 2 submission wins. He won on the Contender Series in 2019, then got obliterated in two UFC fights in a combined 3 minutes. Since then, Cruz has won a pair of fights on the regional scene and now we are here.
I don’t think Cruz is being brought in as an equal match to King. Pretty sure Bobby is going to push him over and deliver a moderate whomping.
Heavyweight - Davion “All Day” Franklin vs Kasim Aras
Franklin is 5-1 with 3 TKO wins. He’s fought his entire pro career thus far in Bellator, losing his last bout by RNC to Marcelo Golm.
Aras is 7-1 with 3 TKO and 2 submission wins, and to show he’s a cool badass, he’s also got a loss by DQ due to CHEST BITE. An absolute savage! He’s on a 3-fight win streak, so he mentally bounced back from chomping into human flesh, and hopefully his hunger has been satiated. For now.
I am a simple keyboard warrior, but I would not agree to a fight against someone that has a history, no matter how minor, of being a cannibal. Respect to you, Davion Franklin, but be careful.
Flyweight - Ilara “Arya Stark” Joanne vs Bruna Ellen
Joanne is 11-6, with 4 TKO and 3 sub wins. She is currently 3-2 in Bellator, having stopped a two fight skid with a pair of decision wins last year.
Ellen is 6-4 with a single TKO stoppage to her name. She is 4-4 in Bellator, losing her latest bout by decision.
It’s going to be interesting to see how long Joanne keeps the Arya Stark nickname as Game of Thrones slowly fades from cultural relevancy. I guess the other fun game to play is to see if she retires from fighting before Martin finishes the next book. Anyway, this is going to be a fight between people. You can watch it or you can not watch it, the choice is yours.
Welterweight - Alexey Shurkevich vs Masayuki Kikuiri
Shurkevich is 13-5 with 1 submission and 9 TKO victories. He is 1-0 in Bellator, winning his Circlegon debut back in 2021. Since then, he went to Shlemenko FC and, fittingly, lost by spinning backfist knockout.
Kikuiri is a type of Nepalese short sword, favored by the Gurkhas. Whoops, that’s not right. Masayuki Kikuiri is 8-2 with 5 wins by TKO. He’s fought exclusively in Pancrase, where about half his wins have come against guys with losing records.
This looks like another set up fight, in that Kikuiri is being set up to get beat down.
