They are glorious children. Currently on a trip and missing my good girl Calypso, who sleeps between my feet every night and periodically gets up to sit on my chest and lick me in the face.

She's 13 lbs, so it's kinda like someone carefully setting a bowling ball on your sternum.

My folks live on a farm and their 2006 batch of cats were aging out of mouse control, so they brought in a batch of kittens in 2022. There was a particular drawer you could pull a (snap trapped) mouse out of nearly every day and the kittens came to know this as "the mouse drawer, where you get me mice from." They would beg us to open the mouse drawer and eventually learned to open it themselves.

There is no longer a mouse problem in the house.

Made a Japanese cheesecake and I had to hold Noon's face in one hand while I sprinkled powdered sugar with the other. Later, she sat on my lap while I cut it and gave her the first bit. Noon's nuts for cheesecake.
