She doesn’t even want me to feed her. I give her food and she’ll ignore it! Usually her bowl still has food in it from her bedtime snack! She just wants me awake.

Usually by climbing the built-ins next to the bed and dropping stuff on me from above.

Good news now, at least! My cat has fully adjusted to the new apartment and has quickly taken up sunning on the balcony and staring out from the window as her new favorite hobbies.







The windowed side of the apartment gets a ton of summer sun and heat in the afternoon, so the floor is still toasty even at night. She's clearly in her glory.

E: does anyone's cat get excited after taking a poo poo? Sometimes my cat will use her litterbox then get really excited and run around the house from zoomies.

Pushka's day was like most of her days:

• popped out of her hidey cube when she heard me get up.
  
• ate the breakfast of kangaroo mince I prepared for her while I made my coffee.
  
• sat in front of my study door waiting politely for me to finish my breakfast.

had to put my boy down today, he was only 7. weird af kidney issues, even the vets were confused because he wasn't showing anything a few months ago when we got blood work done for him. in just 2 weeks he lost half his bodyweight and was drooling blood. RIP Finn, will never find another cat like you.

In my experience, cats sound very different with something in their mouth. We learned to identify our Tess's mouth-full meows... And then, of course, she learned to put the mouse down before she asked to come in.

Lilac is a cat of leisure. She hung out on our bed staring out the window most of the day. She also begged for treats / wet food / turkey. She also was willing to get tummy rubs. She is very sweet.

Pazuzu alerted me to a scratching under my kitchen cabinet, which lead to a discovery of what is definitely a few-weeks-old infestation of mice. Most of the soaps and cleaners I use are at the front of the cabinet and I haven’t dug around in there since early December.

They’ve been eating a bag of wheat litter I forgot about at the back.

Well it’s clean in there now and judging by the whole, untouched loose Cheerio behind the garbage can (I haven’t had those in the apartment since November) and lack of holes chewed in any other foodstuff in the apartment, they have yet to breach the cabinet.

Zuzu was appropriately praised and given a treat for the information and given strict orders to guard the kitchen until the building manager can be told (Like 5 hours from now.)

Well done, Pazu!

(I also noticed a big wet soft spot in the drywall above my kitchen sink. It was a bad night.)

Re first pic: Vice is chill as gently caress and does nothing to provoke the snake ever. Versa and Marie are different and find him extremely freaky, so we keep them away. We've surmised that Ulysses (the snake) likes soft textures, because when presented with a blanket, cat, or plush version of himself, he doesn't want to leave and just continue rubbing himself all over it.

Vice didn't appreciate having Uly's tongue in his ear, and would stir ever so slightly when that happened, but that was it.
