LOL For some reason I always thought that character was played by F Murray Abraham and was impressed the show had him in the cast.

Tony's great though and he is one of the best chars in the series.

While certainly some episodes haven't aged well, still fun to watch overall.

So I never really got into Atlantis when it was airing, but since I've been doing this SG1 re-watch I thought I'd check it out.

What's the best way to integrate Atlantis into a SG-1 re-watch? Just alternate seasons after they introduce the Atlantis subplot on SG-1?

Apparently in one of the novels, SG-1 goes back to save them like five years later. I think it was titled "A Matter of Honor" (the episode was called A 'Matter of Time')

I had no idea there were SG1 novels.

The actor apparently is a great guy, but wow does he play a great slimy corporate bad guy. Even Jellico (though Jellico was correct in some regards).

I loved when Supreme Commander Thor put him in his place.

I watched this ep last night and Thor's dress-down of Kinsey in front of the other ambassadors (including the guy who played Jules-Pierre Mao from the Expanse) was very satisfying. Also, I though that episode's premise of cluing in the other world leaders of the Stargate program was an excellent premise for a clip show.

The 8th season clip show with Dan Castellaneta is so good. I love the implication that Jack had been seeing this guys life for like 7 years and never said anything about it. Also the Burns as Goa'uld conversation is gold.

This was followed by Atlantis's first clip show episode which was an an interesting twist on the format, too, given all the clips were of alternate timelines.

Stargate really does have the best clip show episodes by far.

I love that RDA's love of The Simpsons is reflected in the show. There's plenty of small references, but it culminates in "Citizen Joe", where the actor who plays Homer stars.

And then RDA goes on The Simpsons in a pretty funny episode.

IIRC, part of the joke is that the Simpsons aired in the same timeslot as MacGuyver, which is why he makes the reference about always having to record it. There's also the long-running joke in the Simpsons about Patty and Selma being obsessed with MacGuyver too (which is the premise of the Simpsons episode you referenced.)

Kinda bummed out that I'm almost done my Stargate rewatch, well with the SG-1 portion of it anyways. I still have a couple episodes and the movies.

Fortunately I still have a couple seasons of Atlantis, and then Universe left too, but we all know SG-1 is peak Stargate.

Watched the episode with Fred Willard last night. He's great in everything (except porno theaters apparently.) LOL at Teal'c going to see the Vagina Monologues.

The episode 200 is just an amazing comedy episode, packed with jokes and meta jokes, and one of my favorites is a very small, subtle one:

At the end of the episode, when they finish by interviewing the cast of WORMHOLE X-TREME, you can see stagehands in the background moving potted pine trees.
I loved it - it's a dig at themselves for filming in the Vancouver area and all those PNW forest planets.

I never noticed that before, but that's pretty funny. 200 is jam packed with jokes like that.

You know, I kinda wish they found an excuse to have RDA play hockey for an episode.

After having finished SG1 and Atlantis, I started re-watching Universe. Its slightly better than I remembered and the increased production value is welcome. Its nice to see some of the old SG1 faces make occasional appearances.

I'm not crazy about some of the love triangle plot-lines so far as they try and be more serious and adult in the vein what was sure to be then imitating Battlestar, but I think I will miss this show knowing that it ended on such a cliffhanger that will never be resolved.

I really wish someone would revive Stargate in some form. Its such a great IP.

One of my favorite episodes (top 10 in the series IMO) is on Comet right now, "Window of Opportunity", or the SG1 Groundhog Day episode.

Funny, serious, cool sci-fi, it's got everything that makes SG1 great.

I remember watching that episode like 20 years ago recovering from surgery and hopped up on painkillers and it being quite a trip. It and the black hole episode are the two episodes that almost always spring to mind when remembering SG1 generally.
