Fun change in my hoarse/horse cough & voice illness: I can now taste the peppery taste of pepsi and coke (it’s kinda good actually). No positive tests the whole time.

If you're lucky enough to have doctors that don't suck and don't lie to you, then maybe you get to have exciting conversations like the one I just had with our childs' doctor at their annual checkup.

The context I set was that kiddo has missed 18 days of school and I know for a fact that I myself have had fever ~>100F 40 times this year, and that it's been worrying and disruptive and makes me wonder if there's any value in seeing a specialist even if expensive / out of state. This isn't verbatim but lots of the phrasing is:

"I believe that what we're seeing with you and your child isn't an individual problem, it's part of a broader community problem we see locally and nationally of children and adults getting sick more frequently, for longer. If you wish to pursue any kind of specialized care for yourself or your child, now or in the future, and have located any specialists you feel might be helpful, we will be happy to sign whatever referrals. But, I can tell you, the sorts of cases I'm familiar with where we have ourselves encouraged those referrals, look very different than what you're experiencing, which is largely in line with what we see in the community at large. Therefore, I don't think it's very likely that any specialists I am aware of, would have anything to offer".
