this is good to know. I’ll ask around, if you find one post it here, I’ll toss some coin into that bucket.

I'd presume (or at least hope) that they'll one day be in a position to render aid again, so those donations aren't really going to waste.

I don't think there are any humanitarian or charitable organizations that can operate in Gaza at the moment. I'd love to be wrong though.

The Palestine Red Crescent Society is in Gaza driving the ambulances that keep getting bombed, unless I'm mistaken. But it's a lot less smooth to send them foreign donations (banks not cooperating, their servers got bombed, etc) and I don't actually know if sending them money from abroad translates directly into money in Gaza that can do any immediate good.

MSF is also still in operation in Gaza, but has the same issue actually getting supplies in as everyone.
Last I checked they also don't let you specifically earmark funds for a single cause or region. Their general MO is they help everyone, and use the money where they can. They're pretty reliable in actually using the funds well, just you can't guarantee a donation goes to Gaza if that's their only mission you're concerned about.

if you wanted to help directly Gaza your SOL since dollars won’t translate into anything since actual supplies are restricted. You have to look through the charities and decide how broad you want it to go ie ANERA or UNRWA that deal with refugees largely vs doc outfits vs food programs

RoboBoogie

my friend recommends https://www.anera.org

they were the org she worked with the get stuff in

my wife knows someone on the board of the kinder foundation. they were able to get supplies into Gaza from Egypt.

remember that those charities also support palestinians in the west bank & refugees who've escaped gaza or already are receiving medical treatment in other countries etc

also that even if aid can't get in right this moment, those organizations have people already there who are helping people and need to survive ( in gaza they use whatsapp and whatever to xfer money, so straight cash still has use )

there's no reason to believe donating won't help anyone or that it's too late for it to make a difference, esp. when Israels still making more orphans and refugees right now who'll need help

edit: also ty, just wanted to say this so other people don't feel discouraged or think donating wont help

:siren: IF YOU WANT TO HELP PEOPLE IN GAZA GET ONLINE FOLLOW THESE STEPS :siren:

First, whatever you do....DO NOT ACTIVATE THE eSIM

1. Download an app where you can purchase an eSIM for Israel or the Middle East.

The top three needed right now are:

Nomad (Israel 20GB plan/$30 or Middle East 10GB plan/$32 – preferably ME)
Holafly (Israel - Price List by day, unlimited data)
Simly (select Middle East and use promo code ARB for a 25% discount – 6GB valid for 15 days, price before discount $35, after discount $26.25)

2. DO NOT ACTIVATE THE ESIM

3. Take a screenshot of the eSIM QR code. For Nomad, close the app after purchasing and screenshot the email with the QR code. Simly will display the QR code in the app after purchase. I haven't used Holafly yet, but I imagine it is similar.

4. After screenshotting the QR code, email it to gazaesims@gmail.com.

Only email to this address.
For the subject line, use "[CARRIER NAME] eSIM".

5. DTI DTA

If you're concerned this isn't legit, it is.

Here are some instructions on Twitter in case mine don't make sense.
