I've seen that before on a lot of cheap stuff from Amazon. I think it's because they just convert mm to inches and then ask some website to make a fraction out of it, not realizing that inch enjoyers only use power of two fractional divisors. The only 11mm headed bolts I can think of that I deal with regularly are GM driveshaft ujoint strap bolts and Jeep crank position sensor mounting bolts. I can't remember what thread they are but I want to say it's something weird and special.

Woke up in Dubai, I'm visiting a friend and didn't really have enough solid reasons to say no to his invitation. Going to a car shows/gatherings while I'm here for a few days so I'll nab photos of anything particularly cool. He's driving around in a 1976 280Z in white with the fender flares and says he never locks the car because he doesn't need to. That to me is crazy. I can only do the same because I live in the middle of nowhere, he straight up doesn't lock it even in the city. Picked me up from the airport in it last night and as we were walking up to it "door's unlocked, it's always unlocked" and when I asked it blew my mind a little.

In Dubai, if the value is over 3000 dirhams, it's 7 years in jail, 50k dirham fine, and possible permanent deportation. There are CCTV cameras EVERYWHERE. Mass surveillance is just the norm there. It's definitely a bizarre place but the vibe I'm getting is Vegas but without the gambling and that it actually functions as a city...  The drivers are about as good as those in the US and they have the 12-18 lane wide roads y'all love so much. It's kinda weird how much it reminds me of the US, whether that's good or bad I'll leave up to you.

Those carefully curated videos of a 2 block radius of drug users in inner city areas you'd have to literally go out of your way to find and travel to in order to make stupid videos are the result of the childish thinking those philosophies are built on, which results in the "social decay" that is actually the end stage of drug addiction. It's amazing how dedicated they are to the cruelty. We were piloting a basic income project here in Iowa, funded privately and running a modest $500 monthly supplement for 2 years from May 2023. The local death cult in the legislature passed a bill to explicitly ban these programs because it was working. Hasn't made it through the Senate yet, but probably will. I heard Tesla has removed the indicator light stalk from their cars? I got explained to me that this is good because the cars navigation software can signal instead for you, humans are poor at this. And I was going huh? I only use the navigator app (google maps on my phone lol) when I go to a new place and I can't find my way. Nah man, you use the navigator every day even going to the supermarket, what if it shows bad traffic congestion or something else? Well to that I say -I'm old and I don't like new things And that makes me right.
