Honestly I find it refreshing that he was honest about that. We want our team's players to sacrifice everything to win but if his future employment & income is tied into performance & health, it's entirely natural for folks to start making business decisions on the field. It's almost as if having non-guaranteed contracts has something to do with this…

Watching Get Up this morning while having my coffee and they're making the argument that Mayo got to see how losing was in New England, which the other coordinators didn't experience before taking head coaching positions elsewhere. Will Mayo suck his first year? The possibility is almost certain. New England is now in rebuild mode and Mayo has the opportunity to be kind of bad in 2024 while learning the ropes. Miami & Buffalo will rule the AFCE for the time being*. If anything I'm just happy we didn't have to be subject to the blatant dog & pony show of interviews teams do to comply with the Rooney Rule. The fact that there's so few black head coaches in the NFL is  at the owners.*Sorry Jets, you dug your own grave with A. A. Ron.
