I throw it at the bug breach and rack up a ton of kills as it lingers while they pop out. 70sec cooldown means it's basically available for every bug breach, if you're lucky.

Definitely worth it to try and see if you like it.

I did have a friend die in it. I told him to be careful of the green fog, but the world fog was kind of intermixed in it and he couldn't see a clear boundary. He died real quick.

Lovely Joe Stalin posted:

It is actually a very very good stratagem for dropping on a bug breach as soon as the smoke comes up. It covers a large area and lingers, so while it won't outright kill them all like a lucky bomb can, it will weaken pretty much everything in the initial spawn.

EAT is so good. My friends brought me to my first level 7 and the EAT saved our rear end so many times.

Ravenfood posted:

Not really. Even when I brought that combo I still brought EATs too. If you're better at it than I am you could probably bounce the grenades under the charger, but that didn't work so well for me.

That makes sense. Kinda sucks you need to dedicated another spot to charger removal, but it is also super useful for spores and birds nest too.

Edit: Also I asked "How do I kill heavy devastators?" and I got kicked from the game. The gently caress is wrong with people today?

Watching your giblets fly through the air after you realize what you've done is the cherry on top.

In theory, dropping it on a bug burst would be a really great idea. But it just doesn't work enough to be worth a stratagem slot.

My guess is when the bots and the bugs are mostly bottled up, the illuminate come out. That would be pretty awesome :hmmyes:

It's good. When I take it I use it as my primary for most of the mission and switch to the actual primary when it wants to cool down. It will burn the launchers off missile Devastators very quickly, and it pops their heads with ease. It will very quickly kill a stunned Hulk with fire into the vision slit, or any heavy or turret if you can see the vents.

All round a good pick for bots, but it does lack a certain feeling of feedback when you fire. And while it is good for Berserkers at range, close in against them I feel like I'm still swapping to my machine pistol.

Like the grenade launcher it leaves your back free to carry a supply pack, but because it doesn't care for ammo you could also just mule a spare spear/AC/RR pack for a friend once he can call it in.

Awesome! I will totally give it a whirl next time I am on.

Also, I finally hit 20 but I don't have enough resources to buy the shield backpack :smith:.

It's really sad that there's not much of a reason to use the others. The Lib Penetrator should really be more useful against armored dudes but it's not, things like that. A balance pass would be great, where they don't touch the guns listed above (though maybe a very slight nerf to the Sickle) would be good.
