Most people are just conflict-avoidant which is probably for the best because the exceptions are huge aggro assholes, but it does mean that people are strongly inclined to not speak up even if something stinks. Especially if the interaction is private and/or 1-to-1, people doubt themselves, or they think that it's not a big deal that's worth making a fuss. That's why announcing a big countdown to die was the inciting incident, because everyone expressing grief was too obnoxious for Slowbeef to ignore.

I thought concerntrolling was being lovely to someone but pretending that you're just worried for them, usually with some kind of social justice angle ("Trans people shouldn't do this, not because I hate trans people, I'm just concerned they might get harrassed" or "black characters shouldn't exist, not because I hate black people but because they might promote stereotypes"). Basically another way for people to be bigotted in public but not in a way that immediately gets called out. And then it became anyone who expresses criticism or disapproval for something.

I think a lot of people are just not used to considering the possibility that someone (especially someone they consider a friend) would lie to their face. Granted this is the internet so it's not really "to your face", and ideally you would learn this lesson a lot earlier in life, but still.
