One complaint I've seen is the Ghoul doesn't look enough like a ghoul and I guess I get it but at the same time you want Walton to have as much freedom to act as possible so settle down.

The teaser for this a few months ago had me vaguely interested, the actual trailer looks like everyone involved understands the assignment.

This show will be made for the 90% of people who don't know what the gently caress Fallout is, with some fan service to the 9.9% who know Fallout 4/76 or 3 or New Vegas. Yet, I somehow get the feeling the only noise I'm going to hear about this show is the droning bullshit of the microscopic amount of Fallout 1 +2 fans yelling about lore no one cares about.

But enough about No Mutants Allowed. :smugdog:

Mostly it's because the lore complaints are overwhelmingly really bad.

Actual lore differences like "ghouls now have Wolverine-style healing" are drowned out 10 to 1 by things like "Shady Sands is too close to LA, there should have been 3 episodes of walking each way. Never mind that even Fallout 1 and 2 couldn't agree on the actual Shady Sands location"

The ghoul stuff doesn't really bother me too much. Ghouls already feel pretty tough and rugged, so healing factor, sure. Thinking especially of ones like Raul in NV. Also I think it was established every sapient ghoul is worried they might one day go feral but if not, it makes sense. And needing drugs to stave it off is admittedly a bit weirder for me but I just can't muster up caring enough to call it bad.

My partner, who had hitherto not consumed any Fallout media, really enjoyed it and left our binge wanting to play one of the games.

I think I've landed on 3. I know it's a contentious choice but while NV is superior it's a bit more for the 'heads and also doesn't have the classic vault-dwelling start. And I think starting with isometric joints from the last century isn't gonna be it.

Honestly FO3 is a good start. I always have a ball wandering around the Capital Wasteland, more so than the others, and taken strictly as an exploration simulator it's... pretty good. And your partner won't have to deal with FO3's terrible original ending!

She really is great. She plays it perfect from simple innocence to 'poo poo-I-just cut Ben's head off', to some really emotional moments deep in. And I had no idea she was a Brit using an American accent, and also the voice of Gwynn on Star Trek: Prodigy (which is a great role, but to be fair imo her VA never stood out as spectacular, only capable).

She's also fantastic as Jinx in Arcane. Purnell gets a pretty wide range to play with given Jinx's... eccentricities.

More or less. For a brief period, people thought of Musk as a real-life Tony Stark. (He was even in Iron Man 2 in a bit which did not age well.) HE SHOT A CAR TO MARS WHOOO and so on and Elon bought into it hard. Then all his shuttles kept exploding, he proved on Twitter why in all his previous partnerships people ditched him as soon as possible and he made a car to rival that of Homer Simpson's own design.

I decided to see what all the fuss was about and had a look at some of the posts and comments just now. Let's just say after 5 minutes or so, I've unsurprisingly come to the conclusion that I haven't missed out on anything and that I'm pretty well done with them.

I remember somebody's manifesto from NMA from back in the day that said any new Fallout that is not an isometric game that looks exactly like 1/2, no graphic update whatsoever even, that was just unhinged.
