I must be the only person in the universe that prefers TV Nihon's subs, at least for Gokaiger. I actually like the colored subs, and I prefer to see the honorifics in the subtitles. "Mr. Marvelous" doesn't flow as well for me as "Marvelous-san"

It's fine if Marvelous-san sounds better to you than Mr. Marvelous, because O-T actually translates that as just plain Marvelous.

I'll have to track down exactly what I was watching, but I'm 99% sure it was something subbed by O-T that subtitled Ahim as saying "Mr. Marvelous".

Yeah cos Ahim talks so politely that she calls everyone mr. or ms, even the guy who kidnapped her for ransom.

But I prefer seeing the subs saying Marvelous-san, which matches what's coming out of her mouth. I just feel that the Japanese honorifics carry more weight and meaning than the "equivalent" titles in English.

Anywho, I don't want to start a huge derail with angst, so let's agree to disagree :)

If what you like is the honorifics, you could always get their soft-subs and edit the file beforehand. TV-N should never be someone's first choice, even if you prefer that subbing style.

My big thing I liked about their Gokaiger subs was the fun things like the logos popping up behind the Mobirates calls. I know, it's a dumb gimmick, but I liked it.

I think the lessons we can learn from this is that there is a small group of people who would enjoy someone taking OT's more accurate translations and adding back in the honorifics while maybe doing some visual jazz to the attack names. I've not watched much of Go-Onger, but from what I understand, its a lot more lighthearted than RPM ended up being. (Not that RPM's "darkness" was particularly deep, but it did at least attempt to be a bit more serious than your average Power Rangers season.

But seriously, watch Gokaiger, its great in that I didn't find many (if any at all) truly bad episodes in the mix.

There's something floating around that says that we're not even getting a full Gokaiger adaptation, and for some reason the pirate suits will be upgrades for the Megaforce rangers.

I'll probably leave my email or twitter and then relay details there, but for general stuff I'll post directly. For example, what kind of format would work best? My favorite idea at the moment is to review the series one episode at a time, five times a week. Of corse each week of content will be recorded ahead of time in one sitting. Besides that, we could have a new PR/Sentai related topic to talk about each week, have a general show with news and what's new (although No Pink Spandex already does a great job with that), or something else. If any of you guys have a suggestion, please say something because you'll be the ones listening.

I like the one episode of PR = one podcast episode; maybe follow that up with a longer and more detailed series discussion episode over the series as a whole.
