Went to the cinema to see Across the Spider-Verse today. It's incredibly good and as good if not better than the first one. The animation I feel is somehow a massive jump forward again over the original. Incredibly excited to see the second part. Miles ftw

Yeah it owns, I can't remember the last movie I went to the theater twice for.

Watched 65, that movie with adam driver and a kid and dinosaurs. It's got good effects, but is also goofy as hell and the script is nothing. You could replace every one of his lines in the movie with "now what?" and nothing would change lol

I give it 1 :baby: out of 5 :yoshi::yoshi::yoshi::yoshi::yoshi:

You Won't Be Alone

Pretty brutal and interesting coming of age story, but half the movie is shot and edited like a medication commercial with asmr narration. It would have been cooler if it wasn't trying so hard to be super deep.

:witch::witch::witch: out of 5

E:got the name of the movie wrong lol

Gamera 2: Attack of Legion

Absolutely unhinged badguy in this one, the ending was pretty weird but it still kicked rear end.

Just watched Gamera 3: revenge of Iris.

That's a weird fuckin movie man. Complete tonal shift from 1 and 2, and some of the sub story plots were like weird anime poo poo, but they are so bizarre that they are at least interesting. It starts out pretty grousome which was surprising, but over the course of the movie the effects get so bad that it is actually shockingly bad looking and the new monster is just absolutely no good which is a real shame.

Really glad I watch the trilogy, thanks movie club!

The Addams Family (1991). Still really good. Just perfect casting, especially Raul Julia and Christopher Lloyd.

I love the scene where they go down to the vault, taking a little boat to a secret room out on the water full of random heirlooms to drink and smoke and watch old home movies. poo poo's cozy as hell.

Is it good

It's loving wierd, just makes me want to rewatch the original.

The good parts are that the fight choreography is actually really fun, and the effects are hit and miss but they do a really good job interacting with the live performers to help sell it. The sets and the general world building they've done is pretty cohesive. Kuwabara is still the best, that actor gets it.

The bad parts are the choices they made with most of the characters who aren't kuwabara, and they cut A TON of plot beats out.

Unforgivable sins:they turned the rescue of heie's sister into the dark tournament. All the big character stuff that happens there now happens in the fights with the three mooks guarding her, and they spend a day with genkai before toguro kills her. They even go as far as to have toguro die at the end so it feels like a wierd one-off ova or something. If they do another season it would go right into the season 3 stuff. No big stadium, no crowds, no cat girl announcer, none of that poo poo.

Saltburn

Great cinematography, and a great cast. It's sort of distracting how edgy they tried to be with the screenplay, and it's not as clever as they think it is so it's kind of predictable. It's interesting, but there's no reason to ever watch it again.
