Dr. Shockwave posted:So last night there was this 'meet and greet' of local photographers. Really awesome concept. They hired a model and let like 20 of us take her picture all at the same time. One model for TWENTY photographers? What the hell is the use? Even having three or four would have been infinitely better.

That's the norm for a lot of Fashion/Glamour/Whatever photography groups around here. A bunch of guys bunching together to grab the same shot of a girl posing under CFL softboxes.

Arse-sorted portrait shots. I'm open to any and all feedback, especially when it comes to lighting & composition. I've only ever done one full portrait shoot in my life. I'm trying to incorporate as much of the assembled wisdom of the Dorkroom as I can, but I think I have a loooong way to go. Really enjoy this shot, clean. Her hair maybe a bit awkward the way it is Falling between her legs. I tried my hand at portraits a couple weeks back and these were the ones I was happy with. Not much of any processing as I am new to Lightroom and am very inferior with it. Mitch 2 Mitch 3 I did a fish eye shot for fun too, and I know the reflector is a bit noticeable in the shades, will edit that out once I get better at Lightroom. Mitch 1 Since this is my first go, please do offer advice so I can improve. Obviously a run through Lightroom with a person skilled would do them some good. Also they may all be too yellow due to the gold reflector, but wanted warm summer shots. Thank you. Relish

relish_fetish posted:Really enjoy this shot, clean. Her hair maybe a bit awkward the way it is Falling between her legs. Are you using the gold side of the reflector for these? It's generally a bad idea to do this because you're taking the colour of the natural sunlight and changing it to a really unnatural colour. O would just go with a white one (or maybe a silver, iunno) but I tend to stay well away from the gold as it really messes up skin tones. (also, if you sign your posts on SA you're gonna have a bad time) It's school leaving time here in the UK so I took a good friend of mines daughter and her BFF out for a shoot as they're going on to different further education type places

Gold in general is poor because it's a lot easier to add a gold/sun tone in PS than to take one out. I find it's best to stick to neutral reflectors like silver/white which gives you a better base image to process.

Not trying to Reichstag here but they look quite dead. Maybe selectively desaturate rather than just bringing the colour down everywhere. somnambulist posted:My cousin and her friend sell hair, here's an image for the friends "bio page". Get rid of that bunch of fly hairs on the top of the 'throw' of hair, then do your best to clean the rest up too.
