Is Blackfish the sequel to Black Swan? Synchronized diving instead of dancing?

It's where Nina joins a dance company for the first time in hopes of one day becoming the Black Swan but Thomas turns out to be a fat mentally challenged man who lives in a basement. That's what she gets for answering calls for 'dancers' on Craigslist.

E: Huh, I forgot about Catfish for a long time now and I just went to IMDb for it and:

IMDb posted:

As of August 2011, the film has been hit with two lawsuits and, according to Catfish distributor Relativity Media, the film has an unrecouped balance of more than $8.5 million and will not likely ever become profitable. Both of these lawsuits have to do with songs used within the movie not being attributed to their creators.

The movie, despite its success, never turned a profit.

After looking to see if it was streaming on amazon I ran across a Kill Bill-ized poster for Lady Snowblood.

Not too bad really.

Here's the original theatrical poster via wikipedia.

I think I like this one the best though, even if the image quality I found is a little lacking.

I actually kind of hope it's supposed to look a little crappy and faded, because it really gives off a nice, grungy 70s vibe that way. If they're going for that effect, the font seems a little too clean, though.

Edit: So this movie is actually from the 70s and I am dumb.

Yeah they really tweaked the poo poo out of her proportions, plus look at how much more pissed off and vengeful she looks in the film itself.

I hope this is good. I wonder whether they will keep the incest themes. I'm also fairly certain that Josh Brolin won't eat a live octopus.

I like that washed-out look and I'm hoping that's how the film looks, even if Josh Brolin looks like Frankenstein.

Also, I can already guess which cast member is playing which character.

It's more to do with the fact that it's a cult foreign film than anything to do with age (Spielberg and Will Smith were going to do it a while back before they both pulled out). Spike Lee is a real director though and the cast is fine so this should be worth a watch, rather than just a cash-in.

Haha, I'm not outraged they're remaking it or anything. I was just surprised at just how old it is, time flies. I honestly figured it was made five years ago, tops.

They were actually set to not remake the film but do an adaptation of the source material, which the original film does deviate from. It allows them to get around some thorny issues at least while claiming that they're doing a 're-imagining'. The Spike Lee one is, I think, more a straight remake.
