Yup, this is how I get my Ram to pass. Tuned, high flow cats and Borla exhaust, my CEL stays lit forever. Tried to fix it, no idea why it stays on. Driveability is fine, fluids and temps are fine so gently caress it. I use my tuner to flash the CEL off and drive it for a bit. If I get it to stay off for like 100 miles I swing in and get it inspected.

I almost forgot to post this...

Last month was the NASCAR finale at Homestead Miami Speedway. Ford Racing wanted to show off the new Shelby Cobras and the 660hp they bring. So the track gives them my friend's number to help Ford put something together. And me, being friends with people in low places, got to join along....

Here are the chariots we were given:

And here is the in-car footage of what 660hp (with straight pipes and smoke screen) looks and sounds like:
Yes we were under a giant American flag and by the time we hit the back straight we were going around 160mph

Oh, I mean actually removing the code from the computer. My GMC, for example, can't throw a CEL or a DTC for the rear O2s that it doesn't have. Doesn't matter how long I drive it, it will never set that code.

Goddamn I want a 911SC in a bad way. Shame that $20k on a car as old as I am is probably not the wisest decision, and I don't have any garage space to put one in.

I was in the US earlier this year and just now over the holidays had some time to go over the photos. Most of these don't have much artistic merit, or are particularly exciting to Americans, but it was fun finally seeing some of the cars we don't get in Europe in person. Surprisingly, not nearly as many Ferraris and other exotics as I'd expect in these places.

None of those hills look all that impressive until you realize the bluff at the top is quite literally vertical or even overhung, and the slope below them is, at the very least, as steep as you can pile sand before it slides, around 40-50 degrees. And they're loving around on them and sidehilling at high speeds with horsepowers ranging into the four figures.

Exotics really are that for the most part here. Only brought out on weekends or special occasions. The only place I've been in the US where I saw them on a regular basis was Buckhead, Atlanta. One of the wealthiest zip codes in the US. I literally saw two Lambos, a Ferrari, and a Bentley all pull up to a 4-way stop at the same time. It was like an alternate universe. My hotel overlooked that intersection and it was a constant parade of high-rent cars going by. Maybe there was a convention in town or something but I stayed there more than once and saw it a lot.

I also find it interesting that foreigners take pics of our land yachts when they are here while I take pics of the Kei Cars when I'm in Japan. What is different and exotic to one person is boring and every day to someone else.

For big cars, look at the boat tail Buick Riviera, and pretty much any Cadillac Eldorado From 1980 on back. I think the 30's, 50's, and the 70's were the best year for massive cars. You don't realize how big the pre war cars are until you're next to it and the tires are half your height, and the massive amounts of leg room.
