There's not much of an inbetween. LA freeways make orphans either through suicide by boredom or when everybody is all going 100 mph with no space inbetween them.

Oh that reminds me, I caught up on Kroll Show and the Bob Ducca appearance was really cool. Like, it was definitely written by people who knew and loved the character. His chyron said "Former stepdad", he had the neck brace of course, which he got from "being thrashed", his invention (he was on a Shark's Nest or w/e style show) was suitably Bob Ducca, and he even started to read a list, although he couldn't because it's a half hour long show not a 1.5 hr show. I liked it a lot more than the CBBtv appearance, which I disliked in the way that only supernerds can dislike something not doing their favorite character justice.

Bob Ducca is my favorite character and Seth is a goddamn amazing improviser. I'm not sure even the esteemed PFT has ever been quicker then when Ducca responded to who Kevin Fuch was, and how he created his own tarot system based on Eight is Enough.

Planned Parenthoodie was pretty great, but I was so excited to see Bob Ducca read a new list on TV (especially with the great premise of Shark Tank products), and felt like Charlie Brown with the football yanked away when they cut that short. :(

Marissa in the flesh, I love Jess so much so she's perfect in this. The quote from your spoiler, that part was amazing. The end sequence too, you see it coming JUST before it happens and its just the most amazing payoff to the episode.

Anyway, made a thread for it in TV IV, please hype up how absurdly good Daly is and how this is absolutely worth 20 minutes of their time - http://forums.somethingawful.com/showthread.php?threadid=3609572

I was keeping my expectations for this in check since I only know Andy from his podcast stuff and didn't know his humor would come through in a network show, but that was fantastic. Between this and the Podcast Pilot Project it truly is the year of Andy Daly.

I'll admit to being a little worried when Comedy Central pushed back the premiere date like 5 different times, but that was really really funny, especially for a first episode.

Being really funny has never been a reliable predictor of how Comedy Central will treat a program.

I dunno if there's been a change in management or what but they've been a lot better about this recently. I don't think Key & Peele or Kroll Show would've gotten a second season 5 years ago.

The thing I've heard from a lot of people is that in the past Comedy Central (and to an extent they still do this) would buy up peoples shows, option a pilot, then let it sit and rot. I think it was a mandate from up top that they foster some more sketch programs. If you really think about it, Comedy Central has a very weird identity. It's showing Community re-runs now. But before Key and Peele and Kroll show you had South Park kind of be its anchor of original programming and then it was nightly Daily Show/Colbert. They're filling out their lineup a lot better lately because I think they realize that if you give money to funny people good poo poo can happen.

I do think there was pressure from outside forces. Such as IFC and Adult Swim really loving killing it with their programming choices. There' s no reason a show like Children's Hospital wouldn't have murdered on Comedy Central.

Comedy Central actually made an offer for Children's Hospital, but Corddry went with Adult Swim because he thought the quarter-hour format served the material better.

Going to give Review a look tonight. I'm glad to hear it's meeting people's expectations, but I'm still worried by how the network has treated it since it was first announced over two years ago. I've been burned by Comedy Central too often (RIP, Onion SportsDome)

I miss SportsDome too, it was really good. I think it sadly came a year too early, shows that have premiered since then seem to have done a little better on the network. CC has gone from a place that 'has South Park, Daily Show and Colbert plus whatever awful poo poo is aired around it' into a network that's got some really good original programming now. drat... TV is really, really good for comedy right now.
