If they're cutting Smith and LaFell/Ginn are walking they have to sign somebody, right? Niners are apparently keeping in contact with Nolan Carroll, but he's visiting Buffalo right now. It's weird how he's become such a commodity this offseason. I'm still holding out hope in the lack of buzz around Brown.

Borsch posted:Who was it that wanted to see Newsome leave after we didn't franchise tag Monroe. Was that PuppyBowl? That retard. From a few pages back, so sorry. I saw Newsome not tagging Monroe as a good sign, actually. It showed he was confident in getting a deal done. Ozzie does NOT like making GBS threads away draft picks. When he traded a 4th for Lee Evans he was extremely reluctant to do it. For one of the most patient front offices in the NFL, the Ravens have the most panicky fans I've ever seen. The fact that the deal is pretty decent compared to the other top tackles, it's been a good day and now I don't care what happens in FA for the Ravens since we got our LT.

Nail Rat posted:Browns and Bills in the NFL off the top of my head. In the MLB I know the Cubs have it worse. NBA, Bucks and Bobcats? Although the Bobcats might go to the playoffs this year and will be the Hornets next year which owns. I guess my point is that no team is more rudderless and has a bleaker future than the Raiders. That can change quickly in the NFL if you draft well and are smart about FA and trades, but they obviously havent done that and theres little hope it will change. At least all those other teams have some glimmer whether it be a young star, upcoming lottery pick or something. But I'll stop this derail since its the FA thread and not the "my team is the shittiest" thread.

The Vikings haven't had a true NT since Pat Williams and that is a key position in Zimmer's defense. At $6 million per, it looks to be a little cheaper than the Soliai contract and will hopefully still leave some room for the Vikings to pursue a CB. He's also 25 instead of 30, so way more worth it even if Joseph has a smaller track record.
