Now to upgrade things, you need to go to a particular class or vehicle and click on the ability, or suit slot, or weapon type, or whatever else. All the options for certing stuff up are still there (and then some), you just have to access them through the infantry/vehicle tabs directly now.

As for N and their ilk, there is a long long long tradition of airspergs just hopping over to whatever faction is most friendly to them. Generally this is NC, so now that there's no reason to not switch they all are. Historically all of the best Mossie/Scythe aces have migrated to QRY, and all of the best TR/VS Lib spergs have stuck with their original faction just because the NC never presented much Reaver resistance. Now that we are, it's either join or die. Kylerr apparently was airsperg supremo for the TR but I haven't seen him outside of a battle gal since day 1 of the merger. Shoutout to The Vindicators though, who seem to have maintained their loyalty. So what's the new go to for Medic guns? I remember back when I played last year the general school of thought was in long range engagements the Medic should be healing not shooting, so stuff like the Carnage/Mauler was king. That still hold up? Also I'm almost at Medic Gun r6/Regen Field 5/Revive Grenades again after a few hours of playing. They changed certs quite a bit, didn't they.

The only really passive skills I can think of are armors and the medic's Triage ability, which is pretty underwhelming. It's nice to plug the first level into it but after that the returns diminish quite quickly. Their 200 damage shots and high accuracy lend themselves to fighting from farther back, which is where a good medic usually is. Assault rifles are actually quite good at fights in the 40-70m range so I'm not sure where that previous thinking came from, unless we're talking about as far back as Beta or something. Yeah, I have it equipped on my Warden but since I mainly just flank and spray 10-bullet bursts from medium range on my victims with the Tross, I get the feeling that added recoil doesn't justify the damage falloff reduction. I often have to hipfire it in close quarters and HVA is just a hindrance then.

When I'm doing Tech Lab/Amps, I usually hang out near the backline healing up all the HAs/Infils until the gate goes down. At that point I'll charge in and stick to buildings. I try to avoid the open as much as possible because that's a good way to die. If I run into people indoors, I'll pop up the aoe heal then burn them down with my close range weapons before finding more people to heal. I suppose I should try out a Reaper at least, and mess around with being a bit more combat focused. And yeah, the certgain now is silly. Getting 100 certs last year was something that'd take the better part of a month if you weren't on the winning side. The 5 double exp ribbons, plus the 12 certs you get just for sleeping each night combined gives you 100 certs in a single day. And you can do it every single day! I'm excited that after a few weeks I'll actually be able to have a fully leveled up Medic, and be thinking about leveling up a Sundy/Engineer/HA.

I unlocked the 1000 cert final upgrade to the medic shield regen thing just now and it is a noticeable upgrade in terms up recharge speed. It is a good upgrade for the man who has everything.

NC has over all the best gun selection hands down, TR/VS have some jewels but they are few and far between compared to the loving all out awesome that is EVERY SINGLE NC gun. I have no idea if they're TR or VS alts, but they came over from Waterson and anytime there's a big fight they never fail to suddenly drop a C4 right on the defending NC, or AV mine our own Sundie. It's really annoying and getting hard to pin down who the hell they are with reports. drat frustrating.
