SubRosa's a sludgy group that's got a female vocalist/guitarist, as well as two more women violinists/vocalists. No Help for the Mighty Ones is the first album of theirs I heard and probably still my favorite.

Epistasis has a female vocalist, though it might be a little hard to tell at first. She also plays guitar and trumpet.

There's Thorr's Hammer, the seismic doom thing. The WREK metal show, in the early 00's, would lead off every show with this song. That's a live version featuring someone's camera mic being obliterated by bass waves, so here is the more decipherable studio version.

Darkened Nocturn Slaughtercult for your black metal needs.

And Sinister in the Rachel era. They're kinda dull, though.

They've been inactive for a while but Japanese melodic death metal band Shadow had a female vocalist.

No idea why she'd creep you out.

I seriously feel a bit guilty listening to anything she does, because I just have this feeling in the back of my head that I'm enjoying something that I really shouldn't be. Made Out of Babies, Battle of Mice, and her solo album The Bad Wife are all things that I keep in rotation though, because loving hell she's compelling.

Two more for the female fronted pile: Murderess and Dark Castle

Arch Enemy has had Angela Gossow (I don't really follow them, just know of them, so I'm just finding this out now.)

In Iron Maiden-chat, I kinda discounted the first couple albums for a while because Not Bruce, but I've been giving them a listen lately and I'm digging the sound. A lot leaner sound than some of the more popular albums.

Sigh is like half female fronted.

Also Battle Beast if you like Hammerfall/Sonata Arctica style power metal.

Lori Bravo was literally insane and every Nuclear Death album was progressively more hosed up. Good stuff.

I'd suggest Dark Moor on the, uh, lighter end of things. And Darkspace's vocalist is female, too (though I don't know if they have genders like we do on their home planet)

They are the definition of a band that has had one good album and then coasted forever on people hoping they would put out another one. At least Cro Mags had like two and a half good albums.
