For some reason, every time I play Withdrawal it plays a different track. But when I restart the chapter (to choose Dallas, ofc) it gets back to Quixotic. Is this a common bug?

An interpretation I saw was He was planting one of his victim's wallets in the house in order to frame Alex and/or Ash as the Miami Mutilator. When the time came he was going to use it to frame and arrest her, then become famous for catching the Miami Mutilator. Then he could have movies based on his heroic's come out.

It also plays Quixotic if you skip the intro, in my experience. For whatever reason playing the chapter with the intro included gives you a different music track. quote:Not noticed the music, but for some reason Jake seems to randomly swap between his car and a monster truck. I assumed he used the briefcase full of cash from his first mission to buy a big loving truck afterwards, like the goony goon he is.

Even if it's inaccurate I used it a lot to ballpark how many goons were still roaming around at the end of a level

Which actually brings me to something I've been meaning to ask other people that played the first game, preferably before the major engine update. Did original Hotline Miami just let you freely move the cursor around like Nuclear Throne, compared to Hotline Miami 2 which feels like you're emulating a joystick's movements with your mouse, or did the game always handle this way and I just never noticed?

Just tried to complete the first part of level 14 the "stronghold". 2nd time in a row that I kill every enemy on the screen surrounding the pool full of body bags, and it wont let me progress. I even watched someone do a lets play to make sure I wasn't missing something. Looks like my save is probably bugged. Thinking about uninstalling because the last Fans level I played was really un-fun, and I really don't wanna play it again.

Related to this I think he knew that there was a group of them, but he only actually knew A&A. He mentions that her house was Ash's last known address, so her brother at least, likely has priors. From there, he frames one or both of them as the Mutilator, then goes 'oh wait, they had accomplices!', then the case gets even bigger and he gets hailed as the bestest hero ever!

Finally got around to finishing the last of the Son's levels. Goddamn this was the best game I've played in a very long time. And what an ending, jesus. Figuring out what actually happened with the Son and Alex and Ash was hilarious. I really wasn't expecting the storyline to end up coming together so well, but it did, and they even had the decency to tie up all the loose ends in a conclusive albeit really loving grim way.

RBA Starblade posted:Each part is named after parts of a story! Though Climax sort of jumps the gun. Well Climax ends with both the end of The Fans' and the Son's stories, and they're both the real driving force of the "modern day" story (Nobody cares about Manny at the end and Evan's story ends like, the first mission of the next act, he gets over his obsession or doesn't) The rest of the characters are all flashbacks to before the events of the first game and kinda fit the falling action/resolution part of the story by tying up loose ends.

I just assumed Richard in this game was some kind of surreal, supernatural David Lynch-esque thing? He's a creepy and inexplicable figure and also a warning of terrible things to come. I'm always confused when people argue over the nature of surreal elements of stories. Trying to explain him as a ghost, a magical shared hallucination, or some sort of demon dad doesn't really add anything. None of those things are real and there is no real world logic associated with them. He's a talking Rooster head that does impossible things. I guess it's worth noting that this is different from my impression of him in the first game - I figured that Richard, Don Juan, and Rasmus were just ego, super ego, and id type elements of Jacket's mind.
