the thing is I think FB & twitter in particular need spam accounts otherwise their numbers will look super bad, like a laundry detergent would rather have 5 million followers, 4.5 of whom are fake than 1 million legit ones e: also FB would rather charge $100 for promotion to those 5 million than $25 to 1 mil
