So I've been just going through the workshop download a fair few buildings and assets. What happens if I download an asset that has dependencies without realizing it? will it just not pop up in game or will I end up in brown box hell like SC4?

The workshop will automatically pop up a box telling you and linking you to dependencies if you don't have them installed.

The best you can do is a circle road 2 cells in diameter, but it will have an island in the middle. e: er, 6 cells in diameter I mean like that VVVVVVVV Subyng fucked around with this message at 20:22 on Apr 25, 2015 |

I think I got carried away a bit with this airport. Both fields get heavy use, planes landing over downtown barely clear the skyscrapers. I need to get that first person mod and see what it looks like to land there.

Assets can only have prop dependencies and props cannot have dependencies at all (excluding mods for special functionality or something like that. Some intersections need No Pillars for example). If an asset has a prop dependency and you do not download the prop the asset will just show up without the prop. Domattee fucked around with this message at 22:09 on Apr 25, 2015 |

I really wish there was a random city generator or something. I really like the problem solving aspect of this game and trying to remedy problems. Starting a whole new city from scratch is a pain in the rear end though.

Not the random generating part, but solving traffic problems in pre-existing cities.

(Some of them just had 'traffic or crime or whatever is really bad' as the disaster, as well)

What's a good mod for just removing traffic lights? I'm looking at the workshop, and Traffic Manager by CBeTHaX is coming up, but I thought people were saying that mod conflicted with a lot of other mods? In this new city I'm going to slowly roll in more mods, but the only traffic thing I want to do is lose the traffic lights, and I don't want it to conflict with other mods down the line.

Antti posted:Do you have it up on the workshop somewhere? I love it. Thanks! And no. I'm not sure if that's even possible given how it's constructed and the size of it. Full city save would use over 170 custom assets + mods. But if you want to try building one yourself, here's a list of things you need: Standalone airport terminal building http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=409610041 Detailed airport asset collection http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=423796767 Air control tower http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=412975243 Area filler collection http://steamcommunity.com/workshop/filedetails/?id=416082909 Terraform tool http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=411095553 Terraforming tool is essential since no proper map has flat area big enough to fit airports of this size. That mod is rather expensive to use though, spent around 2 million flattening out that area. I kinda like that though, big projects should be expensive. Area filler tool is used for those gravel patches at the end of runways, aircraft parking lots and additional taxiways. You can also use it to remove random grass patches within the airport area, subtle but makes a big difference. About that air control tower though... I'm fairly sure they're just sleeping up there.

I'm having a little trouble with Natural Resources. I would love for my city to produce Oil and agricultural products locally, but every one of these locations I got are usually not operating correctly because they need more workers. I got a Metro station, bus lines, an at least a connection out of town to these locations, what more do these people want? I think it's maybe because I made the rest of my city into a skyscraper maze full of wealthy people and plenty of office space.
