Then again, maybe the current trend is retro. Doesn't mean it will be tomorrow, though.

hipster is a term for a specific subculture, not just a term for "hip people."

Modern hipsters started as the bohemian quasi-European subculture in New York City's West Village and Greenwich Village, mixed with similar subcultures in working class London neighborhoods where the new generation of young tech and media workers moved in. It really was "hip" in the Villages to be in that bohemian lifestyle, and like many NYC cultures it became popular enough to spread.

I hope the Batman short story is about how Bruce Wayne can't afford to buy out the evil shareholders of Wayne Enterprises so he resorts to crowdfunding to save the day. One of his rewards is "I'll reveal who Batman is"

If this person was around ten years old I'd say this was sort of cute, because :20bux: is a lot to a kid.

If this is some forty year old man-child then I feel shame and contempt for him. Unfortunately you can't click on his name to see his bio, unlike Kickstarter, so we'll never know.

Is only having to carry the laptop too convenient?

Well for only $75 at retail price you too can balance your tech on a high stand so everyone can see it.
Benefits include:
Having to now carry about a keyboard and mouse
Watching as it all topples over as someone walks past with a wide bag and clips it

Still, raised $1200 so far on flexible funding, so I guess the makers aren't idiots at least.

Mmm, delicious failure. Hopefully this'll set a precedent for other awful kickstarters.

quote:

The judgement, filed in a county superior court, awards each of the 31 Washington state backers restitution in the amount of $668. Additionally, Polchlopek and Altius Management must pay $31,000 in civil penalties for violating the state Consumer Protection Act — $1,000 per backer. They are also required to pay $23,183 to cover the state's court costs.

Considering they only raised $25K... :ohdear:

And did they even pay for the Bicycle trademark? I guess they did.

Yeah adding Bicycle to a card deck is just an extra fee; Bicycle does the printing for most high quality decks.
