Twitter is making this whole thing less entertaining. The whole petulant manchild slapfight thing is funny because of the veneer of legitimacy applied to it in the form of debates and expensive campaign ads. Twitter slapfights are the sort of thing actual petulant children engage in, so it really just makes them seem childish to the point of pity. I mean, these aren't good people, but they're still people. How do they sleep at night knowing the last hope of their campaign is calling someone a shithead on Twitter as hard as they loving can? This is like first season DBZ when all the lovely humans are getting killed one by one by Napa, but everybody's like, "We just gotta fight harder, guys" knowing full well they're basically stalling til Goku gets back.

Posted this in the Hillary/Sanders thread, but I think it would be relevant here too. I've been reading this topic, and trying to find out why people that identify as democrats and don't want to vote for Sanders in the Primaries...don't want to vote for Sanders in the Primaries. Here are a number of factors I have seen/read about until now. Feedback is needed from people that identify with them, so that we can quantify their importance. 1. He is going to lose in the general elections against X Republican. I must vote for the lesser of two evils (or for someone that simply can take the Presidency for the Democratic party). 2. His views on [insert single policy issue] are wrong, and I'm a single issue voter / feel too strongly about that to vote for him. 3. There is no way that he could win the nomination, so why vote for him? 4. He is unfit to be a President (age / religion) 5. He is not a Democrat. 6. Even if voted for POTUS, he would accomplish nothing (adversarial agenda, hostile Senate/house/state legislatures). 7. It will be very difficult to have him start a "political revolution" that returns the Senate/house/state legislatures back to Democrat control after two years in office. 8. Being a POTUS means compromise and bipartisan support, he has neither. 9. The establishment will never let him win, so why vote for him? 10. His agenda if enacted will devastate the country, either through the policies themselves, or the establishment backlash/reaction. 11. He is never going to win over the minority voters from Hillary, so why vote for him? 12. He doesn't have the money to win. 13. He is a loving socialist running for POTUS. Whatever that means, republican reflexes and attack ads will barbecue him in the general. 14. This is definitely NOT what the country needs at this time. 15. I simply like more democratic candidate [_________________] for POTUS. 16. Bernie Sanders identifies less with [insert specific voter group here] and I belong to that group. 17. Bernie Sanders' supporters are idiots/crazy/rude. Why would I want to be(come) one of them? 18. He has no name recognition. So I won't vote for him (because I don't know him or because other people don't know him). 19. He licks his loving lips too much. Any more? If you are in line with some of the above factors, can you give your personal perspective on them? Dante80 fucked around with this message at 15:46 on Sep 12, 2015 |

If every Republican candidate for president dies of shame, all that'd mean is they had one moment of self-awareness. To use your analogy, the only reason they're fighting Napa is to steal the scouter for themselves so they can dominate everyone else. They're not even anti-heroes, they're just ludicrously inept villians.

Bernie and Trump are fun outsiders who have tapped into populist energy, but they are vying for the leadership of entrenched massive political machines. This is the real primary: http://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2016-endorsement-primary/ Hilary won it MONTHS ago.
