ElTipejoLoco posted:Maybe they felt having the Human Torch around would harm the popularity of Spider-Man's Amazing Friend, Firestar? I forget if the shows ran simultaneously. I'm pretty sure the same licensing issues are why Firestar exists. They just did a better job in that show, by smooshing Johnny together with MJ to come up with a Brand New Totally Original Character.

The Question IRL posted:Like this scientists builds this ultimate killing machine, but gives him the ED 209 level of intelligence. I just reread it to make sure but Dean(the massive combat droid) is smarter than that, he just has so many restrictions on what he can do that he games his rules like that so he can do anything at all. Jeri points out that he's being intentionally obtuse to mess with him. The Lone Badger posted:What, you're going to build an ultimate killing machine and also make it smart? To avoid that Dean can't do much of anything without human authorization. He can't even leave his maintenance stand unless he detects aliens where they shouldn't be or someone tells him to.

My god Dragotta's art is so great and expressive, and has that Johhny Quest retro feel all at once. And I wish Peter had a cool badass blue alien girlfriend. He'd be making Captain Kirk quips all the time...... What could have been.

The coloring doesn't really do that linework justice. Especially that gradient background.

goatface posted:Lazy digital colouring is a crime. Overuse of gradients might be a stylistic choice. A throwback or deliberate nod to the prephotoshop days when the programs for digital separations understood only 2 things: gradients and polygons. e: also, blaming the colorist for lack of interesting background when the penciler neglected to draw one is pretty low.

That's not Elsa, it's the main character, Beth Ross, accidentally frying her hair back when she worked at the corn dog restaurant shown in this panel. The event was caught on video and went viral, which thanks to other shenanigans is how she ended up becoming president.
