Brobots will laugh at TLT lists so enough people will prob continue to play them (even if they only sorta linger near the edge of top 8 without really winning tournaments that often). I still think Chiraneau + Soontir/Phantom can handle TLTs lists well enough to beat the 1 or so they might face in a tournament. B-wings will prob make a comeback as their raw efficiency becomes valuable again. I dont think TLTs will be able to list dodge all of those counters throughout an entire tournament day so as long as you dont get paired against them/win your first two games you prob wont see them the rest of the day.

Apparently there's some sort of "Dial Upgrade" SKU coming out after coloured pegs, apparently someone spotted it in an inventory list or something, one for each of the three factions.

Or more crits for imperials (ATC is a good start, let's see some more)?

Ran Soontir and Kath tonight, figuring I have these ships, I should use them. Faced a Miranda and two... Red Aces? Whichever T-70s get the EPT. They both had PTL and Autothrusters (which he completely forgot about). Kath was only able to get one Cluster Missile off from her cache but DID catch Miranda twice and an X-wing once with Proton bombs. Soontir took a while to get around everything and start shooting but Jesus once he did! He finished Miranda easily along with one of the X-wings The end of the game, we finished with Soontir a millimeter from the last X-wing, both of us facing each other with two hull on Soontir him with three. I had a choice to either boost out of the way or go for the kill. Got a hit and a crit through but no Direct Damage, then completely flubbed my three defense dice and was vaporized. Much more fun than the blowouts I'm usually the victim of!

Squints are great because you always feel like you're flying by the seat of your pants. It's a testament to the design of the game that I get the same feeling playing Interceptors and A-Wings that I did flying them in the X-Wing/TIE-Fighter games.

Played three games last night, all against the same list with a couple different ones of my own. His list was: Bossk with Tactician, Greedo, Engine, Daredevil , HLC, K4 Xizor with Autothrusters, Predator, Advanced Sensors, Inertial My first two games I played a Guri/N'dru/Kavil build. It did pretty poorly, despite the weird build on Bossk, he was amazingly effective. Green move for a free TL, and then Daredevil or boost let him control range 2 really really well, and make him quite hard to keep in arc with Guri, actually. My list did nothing, except for N'dru, who had a different build than you usually see. I was running him with Crack Shot, Homing Missile (the original), and Glitterstim. With his ability on, he fires 5 dice that ignore evade tokens and can crack shot away another evade, and has TL and Focus thanks to Glitterstim. Being able to dunk Xizor with 4-5 hits both games was pretty awesome. Otherwise though, the list was pretty meh. The last game I busted out my double Sigma and Carnor list, and managed a win. Carnor managed to put blinded pilot on Bossk before he could finish off a wounded Sigma at range 1, which led to Bossk's death that turn instead of him blowing away the Sigma and living. Seriously though, Bossk is a monster when you roll some crits, and with Greedo he still gets a pseudo-crit each turn anyway, even when you convert to two hits with his ability. Good times.

Not really sure why you would use HLC with Bossk, it seems counter-productive. The shots are harder to avoid, sure, but you aren't getting use of his special and might as well use the cheaper Mangler.

Really briefly tossing this together without optimisation, but... does this work? Is this the Wes/Wedge combo, Scum Edition? Bossk does a 1 bank or 2 straight each turn, receives Lock for free, Focuses if he has someone in his (ridiculous) arc, if not, Boosts, Palob strips their Focus or Evade, Bossk fires with Opportunist? Pair of TLT to taste.quote:98 points

Yep, but with Kath with Opportunist, firing from the back, you are still rolling 5 dice with potentially a TL and a focus, 6 if you are at close range.

Flew a Captain Oicunn build for the first time yesterday - pretty fun actually planning ways to slam into people and set yourself up to do it again next turn. I had Saboteur and Mara Jade on him because I never use those cards normally - Saboteur did manage to take out an A-Wing to end the game too, flipping a card into a Direct Hit. I was a little miffed on how to build him though - I had a few cards like Intimidation and Anti-Pursuit Lasers, thinking I might manage to get in the way flying close all the time to get the enemy to bump me but it never happened. Engine Upgrade did sound kind of neat since he can still boost after bumping thanks to the Dauntless title. Too bad you can't boost into other ships with him, that would be neat. Is there a better EPT out there that is all well and decided on or am I better saving the points for another ship on the list? I had him paired with buzzsaw Whisper who did most of the work and, since Oicunn is so easy to hit, managed to escape the game almost unscathed. My opponent did manage to predict me well enough to get her to bump after decloaking which was very unfortunate - I'm still really bad at estimating where ships will end up if they are turning towards each other.

Paint eyes on the back of your ships, to confuse your enemies so they don't know which way they are facing.

I think the best way to build Oicunn is to treat his ability as a nice bonus, rather than center your build around bumping. You could go hog wild with cards like Intimidate, Dauntless, and so on, but I think it's more useful to spend your points and slots on more standard upgrades.

Mangler is nice for triggering his ability, but he'll shred easy to hit ships either way. Being able to land 4 hits on Soontir or Vader is much scarier for them. It's really a meta call I think. He actually was using Kath for this build previously, but the 180 arc is much much easier to keep on target than the split front/rear arcs.

So here's what I've come up with for a big boy list to take to casual play this weekend: Redline + FCS + Extra Munitions + Ion Torpedoes + Cluster Missles (40pts) Chirpy + Expose + Rebel Captive + Ysanne Isard + Experimental Interface (60pts) My only question is how people use Torpedoes and Missiles well? They seem to run out of ammo quickly even with extra munitions? Deviant fucked around with this message at 21:32 on Oct 16, 2015 |

Redline is pretty much the best ordnance platform in the game but...ordnance suffers. It's expensive and can go pretty quickly. Redline does have really solid firepower with it though. Even after it's spent, target locks and boosting to range one keep his damage relevant, if not exceptional. Your loadout looks fine, but I do think that having 2 low agility ships and nothing else is going to cause you issues.

I'm more of a fan of regular Proton Torps than Ion Torps. The crowd control is nice, but if for whatever reason you don't get to take a focus that turn, they'll payoff with more damage than the Ions. It also saves you a point, and frankly dropping from Expose and EI to Predator and Gunner will probably net you more hits in the long run against the things that are going to be hardest to hit anyway.

Looking for some input on this Scum list I've built - I'm trying to incorporate my Starviper and at least one Kihraxz fighter (decided to also include a kamikaze Z-95, to send into their flank and hopefully disrupt the enemy a touch), seeing as I really like them and want to use them often, but just...don't, really. So yeah, any input would be greatly appreciated! I get the feeling that this list could certainly do with a bit of refinement, before putting it to the test quote:Guri — StarViper 30

I bought 2 x Starvipers and 2 x Kiraxz Fighters as my first Scum and Villainy ships. Used them in a 3-way game with some mates yesterday, which I ended up winning with just Guri left. Very good stuff, love the look of them. What is the consensus on upgrade cards to use on these ships? I know autothrusters are great, will be using them from now on for interceptors and starvipers, and push the limit? Are predator and crack shot considered good? I would have liked Slave I and Most Wanted too, but they were sold out unfortunately. May pick them up at some point in the future, all the Scum big ships are pretty good looking IMO.

Predator is very good, crack shot is situational but potentially powerful. Guri also likes Advanced Sensors or Sensor Jammer in the system slot with Virago. Glitterstim and Inertial Dampers are great illicit slots. PtL is actually pretty good on Guri as well, though the green moves on her aren't amazing. It's less great on the Kihraxz since they don't have boost or barrel roll natively.

The StarVipers aren't very good, but autothrusters is great! And yes, Predator is one of the best EPTs in the game- an any-time offensive reroll no matter what. Crackshot is great on cheap EPTs, but there aren't a lot of them.

Will get looking at these illicit things. 1-shot upgrade in general seem like a thing which rewards player skill, recognising/creating the moment to use them being key. Example, Crack Shot is theoretically, in the right situation, an extra point of damage through your opponent's defence dice, which seems easily worth 1pt. Panzeh posted:The StarVipers aren't very good, but autothrusters is great! I will definitely consider those two then, along with PtL on mobile ships. I am trying to mentally form a 'short list' of upgrades I should automatically consider. It seems there are just so many in the game, and most are second tier outside of some amazing combo.

The glue will loosen enough that you can pop it right off with minimal force. Its attached with pegs and holes so you can snap it on and off whenever you want and itll stay snug.

I did it! I'm a 2015 Summer Tournament Champion! Had the Dash/Miranda/Keyan list I posted above. Dash was a magnet for shots but only died once, Miranda was a loving Queen with those bombs: 1st game - Killed a Tie Defender that was going to shoot and probably kill Dash with his 1 hull left. 2nd game - Killed both Biggs with his 1 Hull left and Airen with a Direct Hit. 3rd game - Killed Tycho, who was at FULL HEALTH AND SHIELDS with a Direct Hit. Dash was at 1 Hull, Miranda at 1 Shield and 1 Hull and Tycho had a Range 1 shot at Dash. EDIT: All 3 games, my opponent would do his moves, and I would drop a bomb and they would say "You know, I completely forgot you had those." The 2nd game guy did it twice.
