I've only done a few, but I didn't have to interdict them. After a while they left super cruise and left a wake signal I could follow (wake scanner not required, just dock with it as if it's a station).

Just be careful if they're in a wing.

In this game they love to give you a harmless mission where you're expected to an anaconda in a wing with two sidewinders.

It's not impossible, but by the time you kill the sidewinders your actual target has jumped out.

I hate those missions so much.

Yeah, assassination missions are kinda lousy unless you've got a really kick-rear end ship.

What's the better smuggling ship between the Asp and the Diamondback Exp? I know the Asp is the better all-rounder, but since I was pinching pennies I went with the Diamondback so i'd have more leftover funds for A class equipment. I need gooncensus.

Asp has more and bigger internal slots so there's not really any contest.

CZ'S are hella fun, though that event is pretty one-sided unfortunately. I'm hoping another DF conflict breaks out in goonspace so I'll have another excuse to get my war on.

Also, any goons who usually play in solo, considering playing in Private Group instead. It's like solo except you'll see goons flying around and can wing up and stuff.

Load times for hyperspace / system map in solo are pretty terrible for some of us, somehow private group makes this better.

This made me fly into a star today because I accidentally pressed map before killing my speed when I arrived at the system, and it took something like 20 loving seconds to load without any way to stop it or get my controls back.

It's only for revealing stellar bodies. Your ship can "scan" them without any special equipment if you can stumble across them. Bind the scanner to a weapon group, then "fire" it while cruising around in a system. Then you target all those "unexplored" planets/stars and fly toward them until your ship starts scanning them.

And as Gestalt Intellect says, also having a Detailed Surface Scanner makes your discoveries more valuable.

Limpets are just cargo, you can jettison them like anything else. You can't sell them back on the Munitions tab unless you have a module that uses limpets installed.

Spent the last hour trying out various weapons. Lasers are okay. Why cant I find a larger multicannon than a class 2? Cannons are great but goddamn the limited ammo. Likewise with the plasma accelerator. Even worse is the railgun. 30 shots then you've got to head home and reload. Did they intend for any of the weapons to be usable?

Several weapons including the multicannon don't come in class 3 size. You could try a regular cannon which is sort of like a kinetic plasma accelerator. They have the same ammo, negligible energy usage, and lovely shield damage. They also have a gimbal version which the plasma accelerator does not.

Ammo limits and this ill-conceived idea of ships which are armor tanks seem to be balanced around the idea of short, small-scale combat encounters between station visits. This might make sense for PVP but is pretty useless in most PVE activities where you want to have the endurance to cruise around the same RES or CZ mulching NPCs for an hour or three. For either to be very viable there needs to be a way to repair and rearm in the field during downtime. On my Python I have something like 6 shield banks with 3-5 charges each, so I can go hours grinding bounties without even waiting for my shields to recharge between fights. Ammo weapons and ships loaded up on hull reinforcement can't really do that, at least not nearly as safely.

Armor tanks are even less viable in PVP than in PVE, thanks to shield cells.

The problem with PvE is that it should be closer to PvP in terms of duration and experience. Forcing players to equip their ships for eternal death matches is stupid. Zones should be isolated events that shrink over time as the number of combatants decreases, and influence should occur as a result of who wins the conflict not how many ships are destroyed.

Mission based zones would also be great. Destroy a facility, pick up cargo and escape, assassinate a leader, escort a boarding team, etc. Make it something other than simple death matches.
