Basic Dog training is "drop it" command and learning how to get things out of your dogs mouth when it wants it. I think the only prank I ever felt bad about pulling on my cat was I found this guy in my closet:  I then proceeded to put the glove on, and slowly walked it toward her while she was napping. I probably would have been really scared too if I saw a spider looking thing that size proportionally creeping toward me when I woke up.
