Have y'all seen the second alpha release? Although there is but a glimpse of everything they claim to be implementing, it still looks beautiful and basic functionality works. And yes there are bugs for the simplest of things, it is a loving alpha. And I understand they are personally attacking critics which is immature, but from what I gathered, these critics claimed that the entire thing is fake and they are never actually planning to release a game. Seeing the alpha tells me that something is being developed. I haven't been following this story at all, my introduction to the entire thing was reading OP's post a week ago, and then seeing FrankieOnPCin1080p put out a video of him playing around in the alpha. It just feels like both parties are exaggerating their claims. The developers were over ambitious and short sighted with their timeline, as most grand scale MMOs take half a decade to produce. I don't think their intention was ever to take everybody's money and not deliver something, they just hosed up. Ultimately I don't care--I was never planning on playing it in the first place, even after seeing the gameplay which looks pretty cool. I'm just curious as to why this is being treated like an intentional scam, and not a development fuckaroo that they are unsuccessfully trying to resolve. Fuckaroos happen to a lot of games, we just don't hear about them because they aren't publicly funded projects. I mean, how many games have collapsed during development because of poor planning and ever-growing issues? The answer is "a lot". That's the inherent problem with crowd funding, and projects across all categories have gone under, never to be released because of a myriad of reasons. So I guess my question is: all of you butthurt Star Citizen backers, or do you just like being dramatic?

I'll let someone else fill you in on frankieonpc, long story short that was a heavily (HEAVILY) edited video, and he was probably paid anyway. As for the entire game, you can call it a fuckaroo but over a goddamn million dollars has been put to this game and what is there to show. I'm serious, what can you honestly say about this game looks like it's had a million dollars spent on it, let alone 100 million?

No, I am not butthurt at all, it's all so silly and ridiculous and it's like a perpetual comedy machine to me, nothing more really. I own the game, can barely play it and think it looks dull, I think the ideas behind it are dull and I won't bother playing it much if at all if / when it's released. I don't want to be That Guy but getting mad over vid games is not great, I've never done that because they are just games really. In short, to me it's just poo poo all the way down, lovely poo poo but funny to point and laugh at. CIG won't ever impress me because I am not their target demographic anyway, I fuckin hate sci fi and all that bullshit  Wooo I'm a Star Citizen, here I go woooosh!!!!

Just imagine the Stanton is the equivalent of the crew from Down Periscope, only without the humor or joy.

And given the expansiveness of the game, it is safe to say they spent more than a million just developing the engine/foundation for the game, before they even started making it playable.
