LeeMajors posted:I'm aware of that, but she's been pounding the ACA drum which, while an improvement, was a decidedly disappointing compromise from either a single payer or UHC system--especially considering that it strengthened the private insurance companies' stranglehold while coaxing small concessions out of them on preventive care etc. She's always been fired up about it. About using/improving the existing ACA foundation to reach the goal of UHC. She's been saying that single-payer is not the way to get to UHC. I was just confused about why you were surprised that she was for UHC all of the sudden when...that's always been her thing. Just not single-payer. Just fuuuuuuuck everything if people think they're too progressive to vote for a democrat when the court is on the line.

It seems like they played it that they leaked that to MSNBC and then positioned her speech to be nonspecific, so that at the end of the day if she wins, she could say "See? Presidential elections are the most broad strokes poo poo possible, so if one person is even slightly less terrible than the other, then guess what, that one is better. here's how our intraparty democratic conversation played out in selzer's iowa poll last week lots of the 12% 'not ok with' hillary here but this is just one bubble compare that to the way the republican field feels about its candidates: those numbers are much worse (carson doesn't count). the left is actually more unified than the right, as crazy as that might seem they'll probably go to war with a guy, rubio, who they're more negative about than the left is about hillary. think about how the conversation turns around here when hillary comes up and think about what the conversation has to be like in republican bubbles around the country
