I'll give one hot tip right now anyway, pay real close attention to how often someone quick rises. If it is more often than not after any throw(normal, command, or hop throw) feel free to toss out the ex leap grab, its near unreactable and you cannot backroll after a throw only tech straight up, so they wake up right into it.

Something neat about her s.MK: It can't really convert into anything but it stuffs a lot of things. The range in which it whiffs is just far away enough that c.HP is +1 on block. So using c.HP to get in isn't a bad thing, just don't do it until you've trained people to try and avoid the kick, and then go for the tackle.

Like if im on top of someone what buttons should I be pressing to stay on top of them? So far I've found st.mp works a whole lot but im just looking for a second opinion

Stay at the range of st.mp at the closest if you can help it. If you are in just do the simple st.lk st.lp hit confirm into headbutt and nail it if you got it. *ed* To be more succinct, he lives and dies at mid-range. To change things around, I could use some input. When is it a good time to change up your character? I've been in this since release as Necalli, and I've hit a point where I know what it is I want to do with him. While I'm not solid, I have an entry level set of skills with most of his basics, and even a bit of experience in having a charge move and command throw. I'm happy with my progress, but now I'm up against Silver players that are really on point. I need to buckle down and focus on being consistent with the basics, yet I find I don't really want to do that with Necalli. He's fun, but the way I need to play him doesn't feel complete against a lot of different match-ups. At least not the way I'm learning to play him. Noted a million times before, his lacking normals make competing in that area difficult. Having to bypass the footsies game in the various ways that I do doesn't sit right with me in the long term, because I've a desire to learn the game proper. So long as I want to learn in a part of the game where my character is the weakest performing, it seems a better idea to change up to someone more capable. But it's not so easy to just grab someone and go when building a base level of skills. Easier here than other games, sure, but we're still talking muscle memory and all that. I still want to improve on my basics too, and I imagine I'll need time to settle into her moves. I'm a bit worried I won't be able to translate all that well the things I've already learned, and there's no doubt I'll be in for several bad session of getting my rear end blasted as I press the wrong buttons and drop combos from muscle memory going haywire. Maybe that makes it all the more important to make the change? It isn't like I can't go back I suppose, and I plan to hit up Alex as soon as possible with Ryu/others sometime down the road.

right now I've been having the most success with Bison despite still being new with his poo poo. right now I'm mostly using his EX ball to pressure people with dash-ins and using Vtrigger to set up mixups, but what else is considered a main strategy on how to play him? I never know when to use Inferno, can that hit as an anti-air?

I won a few matches on Sunday, then proceeded to lose a bunch of other matches and go back down to 0 LP Hobojim pointed out some of my bad habits to me in our lobby the other day, so I've been trying to get better at punishing people and not giving up so much of the screen. So yeah, Sunday was pretty good for me- I had a really satisfying fight against some Ken, where I blocked his CA and immediately countered with my own CA for a knockout. It was a fun session. Maybe I'll be able to rank bronze by the end of the month.

The best I can tell you is to go ahead and learn Ryu/Chun; at best, they'll be a pocket character for bad matchups, and, at worst, they'll teach you about that character's limits for the next time you face them with Necalli.

I never know when to use Inferno, can that hit as an anti-air? Day 1 strat is dash in throw. When they start reacting to the dash and try to jab, you do dash in hk for the crush counter and 30%+ damage. Do his command normal HP after a back throw, you'll hit them or crush counter them if they try anything. You are plus on so much, you're going to force the opponent to block while you fish for counter-hits. Inferno is only for hit-confirms, it's an easy punish when blocked, cr.hp is your main anti-air. V-trigger after a slide to make it safe, or after scissors to extend your combos.

When they start reacting to the dash you eat a counterhit jab because dash into RH is 31 frames. At least given they're any good and the connection isn't garbage. Then again if they react too fast their jab whiffs because someone thought it was a good idea to give a street fighter character a dash teleport better than Slayers.
