Summer Slaughter looks pretty alright this year. CC, Nile, Suffocation and Revocation sounds fun and the -core bands aren't unlistenable.

Amon Amarth live was sick as gently caress as usual. That's my 5th or 6th time seeing them I think. I actually showed up late because my friends all flaked out and they'd sold out of tickets at the door. I was super pissed because the venue is HUGE so I walk outside and see some dudes lingering around the tour buses and ask if they have any extra tickets. Turned out I was asking LG Petrov from Entombed and he walked me right in the door. Nicest guy ever. From the sounds of things they'll be back in Canada very soon.

I went the for the past two years, but unfortunately I just can't afford to make the trip this year, and I'm really bummed about it. I've got several friends who are going (including from this thread) so I'm hoping that my Facebook feed gets flooded with good MDF pics and statuses.

Author & Punisher last night was pure . I knew that dude played on instruments he created but seeing it in action is a spectacle unlike anything I've ever encountered. Go see him if you get a chance. Weedeater was exactly the same as last year. Today is the Day are great always--such an underrated band. There was also this prog metal band from Vermont called Barishi that you guys might like. Their singer acted like Iggy Pop and did a loving backflip on the tiny Reggie's stage. It was dope.
