A couple important notices involving crash bugs in the current build of the game. 1. The "phantom ammo bag" issue that gave rise to our beloved corpse despawn bug will now destabilize host-client sync connections, disabling sound, crashing the game for clients, then eventually for hosts. This might be resolveable in game by having the host pick up the glitched ammo bag- not clear. If you're able to fix it by doing so, please let me know. 2. The host SHOULD NOT throw the last required bag into the vent on FWB. This causes a crash due to some sort of problem with loading assets for the escape, or possibly evaluating the chance of a SWAT turret. The devs are aware of both of these and working on fixes. If you are having a tendency to crash when at 95% connection progress into a game (particularly if you joined the game when payday 2 wasn't already running), please let me know. I'm trying to find out details to figure out if it's indirectly cause by goonmod or other mods. edit: Almir has indicated we're getting a new Humble Bundle mask pack next week, to coincide with E3. edit 2: I won't bore you with the full chain of suppositions involved, but there's a good chance this will be the Biker's mask: https://www.instagram.com/p/6MaZ4NRbhs/ It's by no means a sure thing, though. Has anyone figured out the stats for the new turrets? I've been using 4 maxed out turrets and 1 ammo bag on DW heists and they are straight up beasts. I have yet to see enemies kill a turret though but I am careful about their placement so they don't get swarmed.

There's no info on the meta reddit, nor have any of the usual suspects ripped the stats from the files. It turns out that several of the best sources for file info from the game may have recently been hired by overkill. I'll ask around for turret info. Off the cuff, though, I suspect that the thing making the biggest single difference is the ballistic shield. The shield has historically been completely impregnable and covers the location that enemies target, making the turret nigh-invincible when it only faces or targets in one direction.

Supposedly you can pick turrets up and redeploy them even if they've been destroyed by cops; dunno if this is a feature or a bug, since it wasn't in the beta. It looks like turrets have 225 shots before they empty out once upgraded, with regular mode doing 30 damage and shooting every 0.15s and AP mode doing 75 damage, shooting every 0.525s, and piercing shields. AP doesn't penetrate tan armor but it doesn't need to since sentries aim for the head.

Thoughts on this build? http://beta.pd2skills.com/#/v3/mABDF:eaBcDEFghIJkLr:ghiJLnpr:fl::: With this I'm running a Raven primary and HE Judge secondary, keeps my dodge at 42 w/ LBV My actual build also includes basic Sneaky Bastard - in this skills thing it requires 18 points spent, not 16 as in the game, so include that. Med bags and FAKs are interchangeable...not sure what I should change, if anything.

It can be a nuisance at times and an outline wouldn't be asking too much. You should always be able to pick up a sentry as long as you're close enough, no need to place all of them first. There are a couple of QoL tweaks I would like to see for sentries. A smaller detection box for switching modes, since it's sometimes way too easy to accidentally switch modes when you're trying to do something else, as well as make it easier to manage multiple sentries near each other. Maybe an option to give teammates' sentries a thinner outline, just so I can I see what's going on with them without creating too much visual noise.

Hot tip: Bring a DMR'd AK 7.62 when you use sentries. Set your rifle up so that you've got a 60 round mag (of 63 total rounds). Your first turret will cost you 2 bullets to deploy, while your second will cost 1 bullet. Run over an ammo bag and then set up your other two. Repeat. Bring a secondary you like using. Or don't. You could just use a melee weapon, I guess.

If I'm using a sentry build, I spend probably 90% of the heist microing my babies. From what I've seen, it seems to be a problem with both Jack Of All Trades and silenced turrets. If you bring 4 regular turrets, they're fine, you can pick them up whenever. If you bring regular turrets and another deployable with JoAT, you can only pick up a turret if your deployable inventory is empty ie all 4 turrets and your ammo bag are down. That doesn't go away at any point so once they're all down you can only shuffle them around one at a time. Silenced turrets are bugged whether or not you also have JoAT, so you can only move one at a time no matter what. Someone told me the devs know and are working on it though! Designated Marksman Rifle In the context of Payday 2, they are the heaviest Assault Rifles, which hit very hard and are usually capped by low ammo pickup rates and low total ammo counts. Magnetic North posted:Ah. I am trying to bring a friend back into the fold, and turrets are his favorite (he used them when they were very bad) but he doesn't have that pack. You don't need the DMR kit - it's good because the important thing is just to reduce the difference between magazine size and max ammo as much as humanly possible, because deploying a turret takes a percentage of your remaining ammo not currently in your weapon, but you can still use turrets with any other gun.

Bort Bortles posted:I dont have any DLC, what are the best ones to buy once they go on sale? Gage mod courier pack, first thing. After that, pretty much anything you want. You don't necessarily need heist dlc since you can just join lobbies even if you don't have it. Anyway, here's some recommendations off the top of my head: BBQ pack Sokol pack Historical Weapons pack Alesso Hotline Miami Point Break Big Bank But really, all of the dlc have something good in them. The Chivalry medieval pack is the only one that I'm iffy about (the light crossbow with HE bolts is still drat good), but if Overkill is going to change up the way melee works, it might become a very good pack later.

Bort Bortles posted:I dont have any DLC, what are the best ones to buy once they go on sale? The best value is still, I believe, picking up the GOTY upgrade since that's 15 DLCs (several very good) for a 75% off price. Above all else, the Gage Mod Courier pack (since that unlocks Gagecoins with Goonmod). If you're looking for weapons, the BBQ Pack (flamethrower, auto-shotgun, grenade launcher, molotovs), Gage Shotgun Pack (unlocks specialist ammo types like HE), Overkill Pack (minigun and RPG), and the Butchers' AK/CAR Mod Pack (a shitload of mods for AK and CAR pattern weapons - amazing if you use them). For characters/perk decks, Sokol (Grinder deck), Sydney (Anarchist deck) and Clover (Burglar deck - only useful if you like stealth). I also like the Yakuza pack, but that's more because I love the Micro-Uzi and not because the Yakuza deck is good. For heists, don't sweat it. Let other people who have too much money host.

I told them on the forums there were new waves of pubs and new players that had no idea how play this game, and worse learned all the wrong lessons they could from old idiots. With how much the game has changed, it isn't the worst idea in the world just to make an interactive tutorial instead of counting on the safe house that no one apparently visits as the introduction and then to learn anything valuable from JS onwards. But hey, here's a new challenge, no skills and starter weapons without mods on the new heists. Also use the worst perk decks you can think of or ones that have no skills. Complete noob run.
