Oh, and noted twat Dan Hodges has noticed that the Tories are likely going to have a female leader, and is already laying the groundwork for dismissing any and all criticism as hard-left misogyny. I really need an interest that doesn't make me this angry on a Saturday afternoon. I might take up hang gliding.

Protest march in York was good today, about 5-600 there. Decent speakers on the whole at the end, particularly the non-political ones who just wanted to express their views. The Green Party activist who hard-swerved from Brexit to 'down with capitalism' and 'smash the state' rhetoric was losing a lot of the angry conservative/libdem leaning crowd but he managed to get it back on track by the end of his speech. York's MP, newly appointed Shadow Secretary of State for the Environment got in some nice EU-Environmentalism points to appease the greens there. Funnily enough Julian 'I hate gays and poor people' Sturdy who was one of the 81 who pressured Cameron in the first place didn't want to appear and be jeered.

TinTower posted:Incidentally, Wikileaks were pushing for a Brexit, due to concerns they had regarding the European Arrest Warrant. That's not really incidental, is it? So much as it's totally irrelevant. Yeah, Wikileaks was founded by a creep who is going to hide in the Ecuadorian Embassy until 2020 to avoid an investigation into his behaviour. Can't quite see how that's related to a Labour MP being a protected source of the US. Also notable that a Tory MP gets similar treatment. But the bit I liked the most was the final paragraph of the cable: "replacing a sitting Labour leader an arduous task procedurally". Almost as if it's relevant today...
