The most disappointing possibility is that they've already 'decided' on Pence and Trump is as bored with that as we all are and is desperately trying to find someone else to say yes In this scenario Newt has already been ruled out for unfortunately obvious reasons

A normal campaign would indeed want a balanced ticket, but a normal campaign also wouldn't have people lining up to preemptively say no to the job. Dude needs an 'establishment' type to tell his non-alt-right voters that someone would be there who's not a screaming child, but all those types but Newt have said 'haha no I don't like Trump' already.

So I have a stupid question about the convention that till now has probably never mattered. How long does it take to set up and how much can be done last minute? Does Trump delaying mean that speakers are going to be scrounging for hotel rooms or sleeping on cots in Christie's room?

Atrocious Joe posted:Pokemon GO for VP. Idk if it is eligible for office, since it's only two days old. Traveling across the land, searching far and wide hasn’t exactly worked out for all Pokemon Go users. After luring victims to their location with the new "augmented reality" app, four suspects have been arrested as police in O’Fallon, Missouri responded to a report of an armed robbery early Sunday morning. The teens, whose ages range from 16 to 18, are suspected to be behind 10 to 11 armed robberies in St. Louis and St. Charles counties in which they allegedly used the app to bait victims, according to Sgt. Bill Stringer. Police also recovered a handgun from the suspects’ black BMW. “The way we believe (the app) was used is you can add a beacon to a Pokestop to lure more players,” O’Fallon Police Department officials wrote in a Facebook post. The app, which allows users to interact virtually with Pokemon characters nearby in the real world, has a “Lure Module” that players can use to attract both Pokemon and other users to their location. Pokestops are locations where players can collect items and level up faster. No other Pokemon Go related crimes have been reported in the area, according to Stringer.

pence is a really bad choice in the first place but that's completely overshadowed by how bad the other choices are. gotta love this election i can see how a 'lure module' might be used for the purpose of luring people with disposable income who you can rob. i guess that's just one of the risks inherent in the pokemon trainer lifestyle or whatever theyre called

People think the base will turn on Trump when he loses, but those same people were willing to spend years getting ripped off by Palin. All Trump has to do after his loss is blame it everyone else and disavow responsibility for a single moment of his yesr long campaign. The base will love it, but Donald will likely do nothing with their un earned good will because he is terribly inept and short sighted. In short, who gives a gently caress about this dumpster fire when it will just roll on for years?

Pence is way better than Sessions because he balances out Trump's supposed weak points to conservatives. Sessions, on the other hand, is more racist than Trump.

Trump is racist in a normal "Jews count my money" "I love the blacks" kind of way that most older people are purely through osmosis. Sessions on the other hand is racist like the KKK. Trump's racism is the word "eloquent," Sessions' racism is the word "miscegenation."

It was bad but a ~true leader~ understands that decisions must be made about unrelated but significant issues while dealing with the tragedy of the week. cmon hil turn it into a sound byte and tweet that mess.

TRUMP gets to act like he was just talking to them about convention related stuff, but both ryan and the ted cruz were already guaranteed to speak at the convention anyway, so what convention business would he need to discuss with them that couldn't be done through email / interns? you don't make a face-to-face meeting to discuss your favorite brand of ketchup at the hotdog vendor onsite at the arena. it'd also explain why he keeps stalling for time on releasing the speaker list - there's no one slotted for the VP speech because no one wants the loving job.
