I'm pretty out of the loop on metal stuff these days. I hadn't even heard Gorguts released something. Is it good? I thought Coloured Sands was a really strong comeback and if this is anywhere close I need to get it.

poo poo, I remember really liking some of the early stuff you posted a couple of years ago. I'm gonna buy your album right now!

Also, a few months I asked if I should go to see Immolation and some guys here covinced me. Whoever it was probably don't remember it, but I had a blast and I just wanted to say thanks.

Yes. It's one 33-minute song in the vein of Colored Sands.

This is a statement that is accurate, but also fully captures Necrophagist's live energy.

Where did you hear this information? The last playlist I can find is from June 24th, 2016 and the setlist is as follows:

Le Toit du Monde
Forgotten Arrows
Pleiades Dust

Don't get me wrong, I'd be stoked if this was what was going down. Obviously, there are way more songs I'd like to hear, especially off Colored Sands, but playing Pleiades Dust in its entirety would be just as satisfying

hello bonjour, en francais we call the bread man l'homme de pain, because pain means bread and we're going to see a lot of pain this year and every nyrfan is looking forward to it and hey tony, can you wait until after my postgame interview to get on your phone? i thought you quit twitter...
I saw Bog of the Infidel last night and they were really impressive. Reminiscent of old melodic black/death metal with a ton of good 80s influences. Classical pieces and a real, complete five-piece band that plays off of each other well. Also, one of their guitarists is at least 6'6" and has a jacket covered in Manowar patches.

Also it's a headlining tour in support of the album so it would be weird if they didn't play it.

Their guitarist, Steve Green, is the owner of Comatose Music, and the drummer, Brent Williams, are both awesome guys as I've hung out with them a few times at shows. LoD isn't the best brutal death metal, but it gets the job done. I prefer their work in Atrocious Abnormality:

Not sure if this would go better here or in the metalcore thread but Dillinger Escape Plan just played a song off their new album on some random radio station and a fan was able to snag a recording of it. Download link here: http://a.cuntflaps.me/ezjnqz.wav

It's entirely possible I'm being unfairly harsh because of how much I hate that low-rent Jordan Rudess, "look at how prog we are!" intro, but that song is pretty boring.

Mikael seems to have been listening to a lot of Ghost. I don't dislike it, but I agree that there could be a little more going on in the song. Hopefully it fits better in context with the album.

Marco Minneman's drum solo was the most interesting part of necrophagists set. I almost left before they finished playing but I'm glad I stayed for that.

Weird seeing Crowbar and Carcass on the same ticket. Has Carcass kept going in the Swansong direction since getting back together?

Opeth's best album was Brave Murder Day.

Closer to Heartwork. Surgical Steel was only pretty good on the whole, but the best tracks from it rank up there with their classics.
