I think they're making the right choice. You have to think about how people are likely to see this: retweeted on others' feeds. When someone is scrolling, you just want them to see "called Hillary 'the devil,'" not "called me the devil." You want to communicate as clearly as possible to people who aren't really paying attention.

Yeah, that's the truth of it, and if you ask me it's much more indicative of his lovely mindset, but "presidential candidate hates babies" sounds funnier.

He is not. Go watch his 2008 talk show appearances, on Colbert and such. Pretty stiff, not much of a sense of humor. He obviously learned over the course of his presidency, though. His later press dinners and such are funnier. I suspect having some comedians on his speechwriting team, like Kal Penn, helped with that.

It was the video of the prisoners getting off the plane in Geneva, he was either an idiot and didn't realize what it was or was straight up lying and hoping he wouldn't get called on it.

Which has been his tactic for forever. Only now they're forcing him to reverse course.

Of course, with (((sheriffs))), it won't last.

Since he originally described seeing a video with a number of specific details that are completely fabricated it was 100% straight up lying. Whether or not he was hoping to not get called on it or if any though of possible repercussions was way to far in the future to consider is up for debate.

yeah. in absolute terms there are more trump voters than hillary voters in georgia. the only way she wins is if her turnout is very high and trump's is very low, because she's not going to get a majority of white voters to vote for her but she might possibly capture close to a majority of the white turnout if trump disgusts enough people

A fourth billionaire has rebuked Trump's assertions that a thing he said happened did happen.

quote:

Bruce Kluger, a former Playboy editor who oversaw the majority of these spreads during his time at the magazine (from October 1985 to February 1999, according to Kluger), said in an email to Jezebel that he didn’t have a recollection of such a feature being pitched.
These are my favorite Trumpish outbursts, because the people replying (the NFL, the Kochs, now Hefner's team) are just like, "yeah nah, that didn't happen" and they're also billionaires. So they aren't beholden to him at all.

He really is a hobgoblin that just doesn't understand how normal human interaction works, because he doesn't have to.

Holy hell, I'm still surprised how bad at this he is. It's incredible to remember how he got through the primaries largely because everyone else was either too busy fighting each other or too in line with his goddamn facism to actually hit him with some real criticism, because he really can't take a punch to save his life.

It's not an error. Money spent on ads doesn't end up back in his pockets like a lot of his other campaign expenditures.

Apparently he didn't have the foresight to follow Berlusconi's example and buy some TV stations before running for office. Sad!

What is Trump's campaign even spending money on? I just heard on the radio the other day that he raised a lot of money in July, though not as much as Clinton. It sounds like he isn't spending much on ads or organizing.
