please rise to the bait, trump, i wanna see the milquetoasty east coast liberals tear you to shreds

On The Media had a great segment last week letting a guy from The Daily Caller look like a jackass for going after Khizr Khan.

That guy citing statistics about how Muslims are underrepresented in the US military while white people are overrepresented to make the point that Muslims are less patriotic was the only time I've ever yelled at my radio.

I heard that segment. He actually pressed him fairly hard, and of course the Daily Caller guy talked in circles going from "he's a public figure, we're just reporting the facts for our viewers to decide" to "actually, muslim americans are under-represented in the armed forces [and are thus unpatriotic], while white christian males are over-represented."

It's exceedingly unlikely that people will show up and not vote for the Presidential candidate. So what you're left with is either Republican voters don't show up at all, or they for some reason vote for Hillary and then vote for the guy who's probably endorsed Donald Trump in the Senate race. The most likely scenario is that if they don't vote for Trump, they won't vote at all.

I have a evangelical friend, he doesnt make a lot of money is saddled with student debt. I hold some respect for him because he does honestly read his bibble, and puts time into his bible study. Every now and then he gets annoying (aka bible thumps).

But his family has the FOX NEWS on 24/7. So he often just randomly repeats talking points. like

1. Romney wasnt a real conservative.

2. Look the problem with Obama Care Vs Romney care is that every state is different ITS NOT THE SAME

3. Well I would like a higher Minimum Wage, but the cost of living is different everywhere Max, Sure I make Minimum Wage working for a small business but I cant support just blindly raising it.

4. We should cut taxes cause someday I am gonna be rich

5. We Shouldnt reform the GOP primary because you need let the base pick the candidate who best represent them.

6. Free education I have student loans where s my bailout.

7. Obama is most liberal president ever, He is more Liberal than Bill clinton
etc

8. You know blacks have conservative values they are really republicans they just voted for Obama because he is black.

you get the picture.

But he is open I was able to get him to agree the talking heads were full of poo poo knock Obama for going to hawaii by pointing out that was his home state, AKA he went home for christmas.

So during primary season my standard line for voting for Hilary was

"well if its gonna be a former first lady, senator, and secretary of state vs reality show host. I guess the best qualified is hilary"

Fucker admitted I had him there but hilary killed those people in ban gazi, I asked him to explain how after 8 congressional investigation they found nothing he went "well thats not what that marine said"

So another one of our friends eased his guilty conscience by telling him that it doesnt matter Hilary has the EV for california, so his vote doesnt count so his plan was to just show up and not vote for president but do R for the down ticket.

I flipped my poo poo and told him al la simpsons its a too party system you pick the lesser of the two evils so pull the loving leveler for her.

Basically I dont want to have another 8 years of him repeating talking fox news talking points, I want him to admit his team failed, and to understand the why.

Now this other fucker pointed out he could just vote for johnson. so thats his plan.

I often get into troll fights with another republican who married an illegal. when he post protrump poo poo I just ask him his feelings on the trump deportation force. Its surreal spouting right wing talking points at a right winger because they can do that whole support/deny them at the same time thing.

If Benghazi comes up, all Clinton has to do is say "I'm no more responsible for the terrorist attack committed against us in Benghazi than George W. Bush was for 9/11". The Trump voters probably think George Bush did do 9/11, so it would drive a wedge even further between them and the remaining lucid Republicans.

It also reminds people that George W. Bush was President once, which would be useful.

I hope his is one of the heads that rolls in the coming Fox Cataclysm.

Has this Wall Street Journal, Bret Stephens, op-ed attacking Hannity been discussed.

quote:

Mr. Hannity has never made a secret of his feelings for Mr. Trump, which is the love that dares to speak its name. But his comments were also a revelation, and not just that it has dawned on him that the Republican nominee is likely to lose and lose big. Like members of a cult who discover too late that their self-proclaimed messiah is mortal after all, rationalizations are required.

Mr. Trump has lately been road-testing one such rationalization, saying the election will be “rigged.” Voter fraud is a reality in American elections, but it is typical of the candidate to confuse anecdote with data and turn allegation into conspiracy. Mr. Trump also says the media is “rigged” against him, which is amusing coming from the beneficiary of the equivalent of $3 billion in free advertising.

Mr. Hannity’s excuses are even more disgraceful, combining oily self-absolution with venomous obloquy for the very conservatives who have spent the year warning that a Trump candidacy is an epic GOP disaster that all-but guarantees Hillary Clinton’s election. The habit of shifting blame and refusing to take responsibility is supposed to be the curse of the underclass and its political hucksters, but Mr. Hannity is giving Al Sharpton a run for his money.

The editorial is paywalled but if you google for it and then follow the link you can get to it.

This is interesting to me because NewsCorp owns both the WSJ and FoxNews, so this is an internal fight. I dunno what's behind it, I have heard that Murdoch isn't a Trump guy and Hannity is the foremost Trumper on Fox News, so is this a way to publicly rein him in or something?
