Lets say someone takes a shot at Clinton, and it's found that the guy was directly influanced by what Trump said, what happens? I mean the RWM can spin it either as a lone nut or a plant, but the Secret Service and FBI don't use Hannity or Jones as their sources of information. I tried to find it any presidential candidates have every committed a serious crime during the election but I was unable so no clue.

Eschers Basement posted:So, the Trump campaign released a statement: If you think that the statement is saying "yeah it's fine to go ahead and kill Hillary" then no, that's not notable. Acknowledging that Trump's statement was an obvious call for someone to shoot Clinton does the opposite of what this statement is trying to accomplish, there's nothing more to read out of it than that.

But they can possibly convince left-leaning 3rd party voters to not passively let a Republican roll into office, and there's nothing wrong with trying to do that. That's only if you can make a case for there being a difference to someone on the far left for one candidate over the other winning. In 2000 contrasting Bill with Bush Sr and contrasting Gore with W during the campaign it was easy to wash your hands of all the bastards. However in the last 16 years we've seen the dems drift a little back left of center while the Republicans hurled themselves into right wing lunacy. So yeah in 2016 if you are willing to risk the apocalypse to maintain your lefty purity that is crazy.

At that point you're just talking to someone with no grounding in reality and you should probably walk away (this suggestion applies to people arguing with 3rd party voters who think that Clinton and Trump are equivalent)

If white, which is almost certain, then he will be labeled a lone nut and used as proof that even more guns are needed. The NRA will see sales spike again, and we'll go right back to business as usual as is possible. Trump, however, changes things. If he had any sense whatsoever, he'd play along and let it all pass. Since he's an idiot and a narcissist, he'll do anything to get on the air, slap fight with anyone who dares question him, and likely give not-so-subtle hints for his followers to do the same again. If left long enough, I would like to think he'd do so much damage to the right wing that we might have a chance to see some actual legislation on guns passing.

Doctor Who is popular because it's highly serialized and super dumb. I've seen like a dozen episodes and that's the only takeaway I had. Sort of like how people can be big fans of early X-Files
